Lies, I was a Huscarl, first true Nord before they even existed.

I remember being one the few to play as crossbowman with jacko and Gnjus when you could barely hit barn door from point blank.

Hmm, I played with the xp barn system, I remember how awesome exciting being a peasant was back then compared to today, trying to die inside the mob where the teams clashed to get maximum xp and gold :D
Having crossbow duels across the whole map versus Gnjus which I loved... Flogging_Molly back then...

Guess that makes me an oldmy old friend too.

I remember 22nd_Baron_Bear slaughtering dozens of people with 2h and pilgrim disguise. Jackie as HA iirc, Gnjus backpedaling with Huscarl and axe just to make one step forward and instagib another guy... It was fun. Except for Gnjus being level 36 and Kesh even 38 at that time. Discouraging when you just started :D

And here I was thinking I was an ass hole for using a German Greatsword with a Warbow. You sir, are a douchebag.

In the first days of january 2011 (as others may not know, before the Big Patch), I was a level 38 1h/pole lancer with 24 agi occasionaly using a looney tunes axe (this weapon was a 4D polearm with reach slightly smaller than a long spear and 50c swings). Because of epic hiltslashing I could basically spam my way through almost anybody even on EU_3, and winning alone against half a dozen of enemies at round end wasn't uncommon.

My clearest memory of 2010 cRPG was everybody talking and raging about The_Finn on teamspeak and me being like "who?" because I was on horse and this guy wasn't particularly good at lancing other cav.

I remember playing with the old equip screen. February 2011. I remember 90+ people playing DTV and having the best time I had on CRPG ever. I sucked at melee though.

There was one map I really would like to see in EU1 rotation cuz it was fun...

One tower in the middle, water with spikes around it, teams spawned on one side of the river each, rather small map and everyone was storming the tower to take control because there wasn't much more on the map. No delaying but short and intense rounds. That's what EU1 lacks quite a lot nowadays :?

Anyone else remember the "weeaboo" guys? Samurais with 2 katanas, they charged as a squad and while they doing so, they spammed weapon-swap between their 2 katanas with their keyboard, the sound of swords being drawn en masse created an impressive and hilarious sound, cracked me up all the time.

Good times. I only remember me and Gnjus being crossbowmen back then (more fun than the amount now :D), me with a heavy crossbow and Gnjus with a sniper crossbow. If there was any roof in a map you would definitely find Gnjus sniping from it!
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

Surely the 40+ kills he usually got per map were quite hard to ignore regardless of his skill at lancing other cav.

I remember saving all through december and finally being able to get my precious destrier, I was a cav my old friend when I came from Native, only for the big patch to come which made 20k mere pocket money instead of a month's savings.

Surely the 40+ kills he usually got per map were quite hard to ignore regardless of his skill at lancing other cav.

What I meant was that I barely noticed him when not paying attention to the scoreboards, because he couldn't bump me and rarely lanced me either, and I think most cav players at the time had the same experience.

I personally didn't like that map, because it was a rangefest everywhere except inside the tower and also because it was another no cav map. Not saying cav was impossible to play, but pretty damn frustrating with all the walls, tight corridors and slopes providing cav immunity to any player gifted with brains.

Thats what I miss about it. The feeling when you bought a new piece of equipment was amazing. Knowing you had worked so hard for it and then finally getting it felt so great. Now everyone can afford basic equipment and it is all about looms instead.
