Title: What should I name my Axe?

This is my new axe, forged of meteorite steel, quenched in the blood of my foes. She's a +3 Great Axe, adorned with a custom mesh/texture: a combination of Final_Boss's shaft and my reworking of an axe head that I stole borrowed from another mod (I basically made it double-bitted). (EDIT: I want to add that I found it in the Floris Mod, which uses OSP weapons, but that I have been unable to find its original source to give proper cred).

But, while her glory is eminent and I strive to be worthy of wielding her, she needs a name. I was thinking Foe-cleaver, or maybe Shieldbreaker, but I'm open to suggestions.

What do you think?

EDIT: Alright alright, after all these great suggestions, I think I am going to name the axe Ursula (after my wife) and just make up epithets to accompany it on the fly.

URSULA FOE-BURNER SINGS IN MY GRIP.

FEEL THE BITE OF URSULA MANBREAKER.

NOW COMES THE REAPING - URSULA SKULL-CLEAVER WILL BE APPEASED.

Etc.

By the way, I told my wife about this, and she's really into the idea... which is good because I need points with her if I'm going to keep playing this game so much.

I seriously love this guy. Instead of bitching the forums for more items he creates his own eyecandy. Got to love people like these. Only problem is that too us you look like a naked skinny hobo in purple hose. :D

I know, I know. I'm all too keenly aware of this issue. Would be great if the devs implemented the buff-body as its own "armor" one could purchase and wear... and in fact, I know how to code items to give skill bonuses, so it could be a 0-armor suit that gives +1 PA, PT, PD and Athletics, something like that. Could have a high upkeep to represent all the protein and wheatgrass it takes to keep up that kind of physique. But it's far too RP for this community, I think.

What about "The Axe"?

There are lots of axes, many of them really good. But compared to THAT beast.... they are nothing.

My wife's name is Ursula, which is actually pretty bad-ass in this context...

Foe-render is good too - good verb.

The Axe - simple, elegant, but does it stand out without explanation? I need to be able to spam battle chat with "YOUR FLESH WILL FEED ____"

I like Mactabilis, but latin is the language of my foes (if I stay with the Gaulic theme)... though Frisia is allied with Roma...

Good stuff so far, friends. Food for thought.

As long as you capitalize the name, then The Axe, can work. "Your flesh will feed The Axe!". Doesn't work with caps, though.

Although since your wife's name is Ursulu, use that! Best name for an axe, ever :D

Why on Earth does an axephante use a double-headed fantasy axe and not a real Dane Axe?  :wink:

My old axe in Vikingr, a Petersen type L or M (model made by Dejawolf, improved by Rath0s):

I love axes too, any Medieval and pre-Medieval weapon armament really, but I've always thought double-headed axes were ugly Conan the Barbarian constructs (your models is nicely made though, of course and I'm not saying that out of courtesy :)).

Here are some archaeological finds, look how slender, agile and elegant they are :´)

Typically I'm with you. I have a modest collection of fighting axes from around the world, and none of them are fantasy weapons. But I'll admit, I have a soft spot for Conan and related fantastical madness (obviously). But, like I said, this just replaces the +3 - it's an exceptional, almost mythical, rising above the axes ordinary warriors carry.

Double bitted war axes were used in combat.

Friend of mine has a double bitted axe head estimated 800 years old and were also used in later medieval times.

Posting pictures of single bitted axes is like posting pictures of 1h swords and saying there were no 2h. They were alot less common but not non existent.

However not the size of the blades on this axe, need the axe head reduced somewhat or weight would not be feasible for hitting anything other than splitting logs.

Oh and call it Snaga.

"According to Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, axes were often named after she-trolls."

I still think a big muscular man like you with a simple mind would name his axe Choppy, but I guess naming it after your wife is also a good choice. My assault rifle is also named after my wife. Or is it the other way around? Both get quite hot when you pull their triggers for a while.

With many peoples' comments echoing in my head, I eventually got sick of Ursula's fantasy-inspired design and re-forged her into something more historic looking, screens of which are posted now as an edit of the OP if anyone is curious!

I have to say, first night of playing with the new model? I suck about 30% less.
