just saw the patch, had banner pack + heirloom pack, but repaired to fresh, gonna check ingame for lag now

Good to know.

I feel like it's server lag... I thought it was especially noticeable with throwing axes.  On occasion I throw, do the motion, but no axe flies.

in strat battle on na_3 right now, unplayable lag, NA players jumping to pings higher then EU players, walking uphill slows your movespeed to 1/10th, half attack animations do not even go through, pr0 patch

Just finished a strat battle. The lag is just hilariously bad. This is at least three times as bad as playing with 150 ping.

banner pack is not working with the mod i cant join battles and game mods are bugging with overdrivens banner pack. i uninstalled it again and working.

but still it doesnt show me the right map names on the server eu_ mellee for exaMPLE showed em a castle map i joined it wasnt a castle

I updated the mod, installed the Banner pack, and I can't see servers 1-4, and Siege is called Conquest, and Rageball Defend the virgin. And, in Rageball, the ball was a construction site.  :shock:

Yeah, I think they did.  Seems either base movement is up, or equipment weighs you down less.  It seems inclines also slow you down A LOOOOOT more now.

Hopefully that doesn't apply when you go spectator though right? I couldn't play though and I hope not too many new people start playing before this is resolved as I was blocking attacks I didn't think I would and vice versa along with some suspect kills and deaths.

No, this was fixed.  If you do not SPAWN you do not keep your multiplier.  I believe this was specifically aimed at people who spectate to preserve multis.  However I hope that it also removes multi from people who are on a team and don't spawn in, because that's the most annoying form of leeching..

Cant find mine body armors, helmets and hand armors (have other's items instead) in game Equipment menu.
No problem with foot armor and weapons.

Fluted Varangian Helmet is the best helmet. It floats sideways 3 metres in front of you. Quite sexy, really.

My favorite part is where you act like every patch does not have a hotfix, and this has never happened before  :lol:

Complaints should only be valid after a week or three pass. First 24 or 72 hours are always a bit odd.

EDIT: Yet another crash, this time after finished round - on the old map with the windmill and two bridges.
I guess I'll reinstall the mod, although I had no mod on it...

I got random crash too, and i see invinsible guys everywhere, in rage ball they throw CS instead of ball.  Please fix it noaooooowwww

The new black armor is quite sexy (website image out of date).
Also, working on fixing the crash. fixed, and also fixed flying helmets (wait for hotfix)

Hmm, considering that it is now cheaper then transitional, I hope it looks snazzy enough for my Lord Soth character to use it.

Did Heavy Plate also get a facelift?

It's also really strange. NA_3, the duel server, functions fine before a strat battle, maybe some slight lag, but as soon as the battle starts it's insane lag.

its very funny, well, right now the mod is shit, but its a new patch.
No matter what the crew does, there are always someone there complain, give them a chance.
Yeah i play a strat battle and it was not nice to play because of the lag, but its only a game, and they make this mod for us, they dont ask for money, people can donate if they like to do it, but thats it

The new black armor doesn't look decent at all with the rest of the black set (but then again, nothing looks good with the black helmet).

don't know if its been posted but the 12 hour format seems off, its showing Unknown server battles above the rest for the day, so ones occurring at 2 pm on Wednesday are seen before ones at 3 am on Wednesday, which is messing with my head

Hi all. Its always nice to see/try sth new  :)

I just see 3 things that boder me just a little:
- I dont see any siege servers. Why is that? First EU_5 gone and now EU_2; I like playing siege while beeing a peasant so I can play not just watch;
- It is not nice that some equipement (f.i. black armour) changed stats and is now middle ranked but before was top ranked, especcialy if equipement was loomed;
- the crpg.net character web page has strange outlook - its hard to read as text is all over dark corner (must admit that I liked old look better). EDIT - FIXED - LIKE A LOT NEW LOOK!!!

Enough said. Kepp the good work and continue suprising us with new things just please dont go in firearms please. I just got With fire and sword and dont like it.

Yea I dont quite like that part either.There has been many times I missed the start of the round because I tried to take care of stuff like getting food and drink,bathroom after dying in the previous round and barely missed the start on the next round.If they are doing this I think they need to extend the time for joining the round at the start.

Armor is totally wonky. Lots of it doesn't show up, none of my heirloomed armor is wearable, armor that should provide protection and that my character is wearing visually doesn't seem to be working correctly- one shot kills all day.

Same here, one-shots from everything.  Gonna wait and see if it persists after the servers get updated.

EDIT: Everything is working fine for me after 0.273 and server updates.

Can't see how someone can exploit that. It just doesn't make sense. You can't know if your team is going to win next round or not, or the round after that. useless if you ask me

You can however use it to ensure to 100% that your entire clan is on one server, bypassing all autobalance, and slam all 30 or 40 of one clan in Siege on one team. That pretty much ensures an autowin.

It used to artificially increase the "gear worn value" even though upkeep did not increase. They fixed it now.

Some dude, i think he was called makalele was riding around on his PC and I was couching his horse 1 shot everytime, yet like you said I was needing 2 couches for heavy inf and occasionally a 2nd thrust for archers or low armor...just seems fucked up. We'll probably find out nothing's changed and then be  :oops:

I mean i dont know how much coding work/hassle it would be to actually do that kind of thing, but if this hassle wouldnt be too much i dont see how this would hurt anyone.
And I bet the majority if not all players would like that kind of thing. Make it a Special Event. I know other online games have that kind of thing once in a while to make it a little more interesting.

You cannot reset only loom armors because (I am 90% sure) free looms could be used to loom other items instead.

So, if you had mistaken about looming some armor twice, you could use those free looms for other items, or some +1 armor you bought cheaply.

I had not really thought about that Kulin_ban. Thanks for pointing that out.
But even if I consider that I still think this would not be a bad idea. Why care if someone uses his armor-loom-point to heirloom a weapon?
Overall balance wouldn't be affected in any way. People would just have a chance to heirloom their new favourite armor. People would just run around in other armors or with other weapons...

If i think further about it:

A lot of people are trying to sell their armors right now to buy loompoints for new armors.

So all in all the chance to redistribute loompoints would even help a little bit the marketplace to not go crazy. Just a "thought" no guarantee that I'm actually right with this. :)

This is not me trying to justify the thing with my little "seeing ahead". I meant this just as a little "carrot" from devs to players. Like I said. A little "Special Event" to keep things interesting.

I am all for a heirloom point reset!

There are so many good reasons for it, that it's shorter to talk about the arguments against it:

1.: It's technically difficult to do
2.: It simply goes against the idea of the developers to be able to change your character after having made decision.

Argument 2 is basing on this quote:

I always thought it was fun if everyone could create his own char, using his own items. The point was not to outgrind other players, but to just spice the game up and give it some variety and persistance. Have your own char, live with it, with it's strength, but also with it's flaws. That is also the reason why there is no respec option.

Nonetheless, if you decided for a certain char, but the circumstances, that influenced this decision, get changed AFTERWARDS, I think it is highly unfair to have the player live with them anyway.

So basically the only reason against a heriloom reset would be point 1. And I don't think that resetting the heirlooms would be such a problem for the devs, I am totally confident in their skills.  :D

It's really sad for the poor people that have heirloomed versions of equipment that gets nerfed to hell because of a patch. This time it's not that terrible because nearly nothing got hurt balance-wise afaik. Maybe some people would like to change their armor because they were reordered though.

I honestly don't see any reason why you can't expect that if you choose to invest your precious loom points into a certain item, and the item gets changed afterwards in a way that you wouldn't repeat your decision, you shouldn't be given the chance to make a new decision.

You can't order meal 12: rumpsteak with beans in a restaurant, and the waiter comes back with salmon and says: "Sorry, the menu card got changed while I was away. Still you have decided for meal 12, so live with your decision."

And who cares for market? It's not an integral part of the game, it's more a small addition. Next to the fact that I don't see where more available loom points would influence the market in a bad way.

I don't get this: a loom point is a loom point, and you are (almost) completely free to distirbute it to any item you want. Be it a Flamberg or stones.

Concerning loom points you always have a) the loompoints you get from retiring and b) the loom points you buy with money.

Given that the price differences between items of the same tier but different base value vary not more than the differences between the prices of different players in general, and the to be expected behaviour of the community to raise the prices of "cheap" heirloomed items as soon as you announce an heirloom reset, I still see no problem.


In short: where can I decide between quality and quantity of loom points?

P.S.: Of course I might have overseen or forgotten something. I am really more asking than arguing, but at the moment I still don't get it.  :?

Heh... expecting buffs/nerfs that come without any heirloom reset also is speculating. The real reason for not giving heirloom resets is because the devs want the game to be a roleplaying game, not a minmaxing game. But cRPG has become a minmaxing game anyway (with the help of upkeep and the multiplier).

I know this is like choosing between aids and cancer, but at least with heirloom resets people with looms would not get their capital (gold + heirloom values) artificially and randomly increased and decreased.

You could also buy a +1 item when you are about to retire then have a +2 with only one more retirement to go. Lots of people are going to be looming this new gear on their next retirement. Some of them to sell because they know it's in demand.

Honestly, I see no problem with that. I still hope they will remove all stat bonuses from loomed gear once Final Boss Heirloom pack become official.

Giving away lordy gear is another way to make game even for everyone.

Yeah, until recently I was quite poor(horse archer) and lacked more looms than my +1 Horn Bow...Still had a blast though.

Nor have I ever played with a class or weapon for more than five minutes that I did not find fun.

Even if it turns out to be far from the best(practice longsword on siege for example). ^^

Yes it would. Why retire? Just for looks? Few are going to bother with the agonizing grind just for that. The motivation to continue to play frequently is largely because of looms. Also what about the market? Are people going to pay lots of gold to buy something that just looks better? Sure, but not nearly as it is now.

I like grinding and I say it openly, like many people, like it or not.

That doesn't mean I don't like the gameplay of this game. I just believe the grind gives a much needed addition to something that would otherwise be 90% like Native. And Native is boring for a reason. Everything in gaming is "false". Skill too, just like grinding for this or that. Part of what I want when I play is goals to reach, and feeling that I'm progressing towards these goals (skill progression is hard to measure and doesn't fit well). The essence of the goal itself is of little importance, overcoming a resistance is what matters.

Now, Lichen is showing us quite an astounding prowess of intellectual dishonesty here. Please explain us how Leshma wanting +3 items for himself in the current system is in any way contradicting with that he wants heirlooms to lose their stat bonuses ? Why do some people cry about looms as if they are necessary to enjoy the game or do well? They aren't. I use my lordly items maybe 5% of the time because the upkeep is ridiculous but also because I usually do better WITHOUT THEM. BUT I LIKE HAVING THEM.  Most the time I'm using very cheap gear. Why don't more people stop worrying about 100% fair and just play the fucking game? Cause that's what I do. You don't need looms to do well but if you want them earn them. End of story.

They are not. But they are the motivation to retire, and if you lower this motivation, for example by punishing people randomly with wasted heirloom points, less people will reitre, and the average level on the servers will raise.

I admit, the ffect would be minimal, but still...  :?

So you do retire even if it's agonizing experience. Why do even play this mod? Am I the only one seeing problem here?

Last time I couldn't stand the class I was playing I did retire before level 31. I wanted to try cav after a long break and I found out that lance angle has been nerfed and playing cav became the most boring thing in this world. I still fail to understand people who still play cav, they must love horses pretty bad. Cav with 90 degree lance angle is pretty epic class, what we have now is silly backstabbing coward class. Hopefully Ozin will find a way to revert lance angle change.

Native is crappy because of bad balance, crappy community and silly system which forces you to change your gear every round. Also gear in native looks like shit compared to cRPG. Levels can't raise beyond level 36, even if you play non stop for 3 years straight. If they remove retirement many people will get to level 33 really fast which is only 3 levels less than max level possible. Actually biggest difference would become just two levels because highest level is 35 atm.

-You aren't at a disadvantage since the items are new. Is everybody else running around in lordly byzantine armor already? And if so and it matters that much to you then sell your looms to get what you want.

This time there were 32 new armors and helmets in total added. Loompoint reset is the only possible solution.

If there is a loompoint reset I would like to have it AFTER some of the nordmen stuff was added :O

Solution to this is quite easy lads: don't smoke while you play (it's bad for your health anyway), take a piss & a core dump before starting to play the game and don't eat & drink while playing it so you don't have to go to the toilet, you never know when your x5 will hit on you (chadz is actually taking care of your health because sitting in front of your computers for hours while eating & drinking at the same time is definitely not healthy). If someone knocks on your door tell him you're not here or just leave a little note on the outside of your door with your mobile phone number written on it. If your girlfriend or wife wants to "spend some time with you" (for some those 2 mins till round's end would do but some may take a bit longer) and you prefer your x5 just tell her you have a headache (usually works for them). Quite easy and doable, brings back the joy of gaming.

Are you seriously asking why?

Maybe you should join Siege once...there are some clans who always stick in spec for the first round, more than 10 people at the same time. Why that? Because first round balance doesn't work and they don't want half their clan to lose multi. So they wait for one round and then they can all play together again and farm their multi. That is why. On siege there is maybe 2 out of 10 who go spec because of reallife stuff instead of multiplier reasons...

i am losing multis because of my computer is so slow and crappy that it takes too much time to spawn(laggs when joining server or after a round)

Vista is disaster, with 7s i got much better performance. I could spare some of my 8gigs, tho i doubt we are compatible :( What type of ram u need anw? Might go check the technical musem :))

That's because it caches stuff, which is the proper way to use memory (it doesn't really affect applications when they need it). If your system has 90% free memory it's a pretty good sign that the memory management is utter garbage (i.e. XP).
7 might not work well on very very old hardware, but 2GB is definitely enough.

hei i always get the same crashes, i have 4gb ddr2 ram with windows 7 32bit operation system at the moment. before that i used 64bit windows7 and never had crashes in mount & blade but my graphics driver was not compatible with it, i wasn't able to play bf3 so i had to install 32bit. try to switch to 64bit to avoid crashes and to use your ram at full capacity. with any 32 bit system, you can't use your ram at full capacity. i can't believe this shitty game consumes so much ram :D

i have win 7 64 bit,4 gb ddr2 ram, 2.7ghz dual core processor,and 240 gt card with 1gb memory,and i get crashes when i use alt+tab too much.
Not to mention that i play on low settings,cause playing on higher details is inpossible.
For game that have crappy graphic,and considering date when it is made this game eats too much resources.
In single player works ok under 100 ppl in battle.

You need to 1/ FORMAT.

2/ uninstall mylittleponyonline and all the shit that starts up on windows startup.

CTRL ALT DELETE and violently kill 50 or so svchost process, pretty sure you will spot what ones instantly destoy your pc, dont kill those ones again: Your pc should be running at about 5% on XP, if it isnt, try to get a better SP. 2 is good, has much less Windows Security ROFL than sp3.

Honestly, this game is old, your pc is old: see the correlation: Worst case scenario set yourself to DX7, 0 ragdolls, 5 bodies.


Oh, and most importantly: Dont try to join EU1. 100 players with unique gear and face setup is killer, stick to smaller servers.

It just seems weird. All pograms developed nowadays are actually aimed to be ran in 64 bit systems. C'mon, you just need an x86 folder  :mrgreen: Besides, hardware has nothing to do; quite the contrary, it enhances the performance of your machine by being able to execute more than 2gb ram (or 3 with the windows trick) and the BIOS in multi-core processors is faulty in 32 systems. Only possible reason could be that machine is old, but c'mon, if it's old how come you have 4gb ram? xD

Anyways, if he can, I recommend Tavuk to install the 64 bit system. It's really gonna help  :D

Agreed. Vista was the worst shit Microsoft put on sale. Explains the fact Windows 7 came out soon after. They somehow had to fix the mess they'd done  :P

It's what I said, with 32 bit programs it can get nasty, yet what I mean is that lately all programs are been optimised for using doble core or even quad core processors, and 4gb ram hence the 64 bit systems. You'd get surprised to see how some programs can cause a Sandy Bridge E i7 to crash.

Game is badly optimized but you can't blame game engine for everything. Native works fine, cRPG used to work fine. Problem is the added gear, textures etc.

We have too many items in game. Maybe it's time to get rid of native gear if that's gonna give us some performance.

well, if you had read my previous post carefully, you would have seen why i have 32bit. my 3 years old laptop (acer aspire 6930g) was designed for 32bit vista, so installing 64bit windows7 causes battlefield3 and bad company2 to complete system crash meanwhile 32bit 7 crashes only m&b program. i was really happy with the 64bits performance, especially in m&b, but graphics card was failing at new games like bf3. so i decided to play bf3 without problem and to stick with 32bit. m&b keeps crashing in the beginning of every 3 or 5 rounds due to kernelbase.dll app crash error.  anyway, soon i'll buy a new pc for maximum hardcore gaming :D

I got memory crashes too. Playing on 32 bit with 2gig sooo...

I installed a memory cleaner wich is automatically run when the system ram runs low.

As we know M&B precaches all textures if you chose to. You can start a round faster but it also fills your RAM very quick.
Once I got my client down to 800MB use in crpg, lucky shot though.

If you do use a memory cleaner in the background, do it when youre dead, because you cant really play when the cleaner throws out all textures and M&B tries to reload them again.

This method works for me, sometimes I manage to leave M&B on in game for hours without memory crashes.

The only solution to cut this down is to use the same resources for building maps (not to many different props) and reduce the size of the textures/meshes. Optimization is the big deal here.

I'm not sure but most of the native gear doesn't even have specular and bump - maps. Some new texture packs textures are as 3 times as big as the native ones. We need some eyecandy yes.

I favour specular maps over bump maps. So please whenever a new texture is made try to keep files at a minimum sizes where it still looks nice, and not the maximum noone will notice in the heat of battle.

Yeah, I don't get what's up with that. My rig is pretty good, at least according to canyourunit, and I should be able to run warband maxed out. Unfortunately, in x9 (with low settings) my fps is terribad, but x7 maxed out is alright.

BTW - PW servers (and PW removal)  often is the work of admins, I am not sure if it is automatic or not.

This is to keep it stable while leechers *and AFK/specs are removed, so more players can join in on map change, I assume.

I only saw the horseguy who got dehorsed and then slid away from flag^^  the moment i killed him we lost. Maybe I didn't see the attacker among the defenders at flag.

Actually, once the flag gets all the way to the ground, attackers win. The round would be delayed if defenders show up to the flag and won't end until either all the attackers or defenders are dead. Basically, it's a delayed loss/win depending on which side you're on.

yeah, that one wouldn't work for me either.  Even with firewall off.  When I first got cRPG to work, I had to use the "unofficial Launcher", any idea where I can get that, updated file?

Actually, once the flag gets all the way to the ground, attackers win. The round would be delayed if defenders show up to the flag and won't end until either all the attackers or defenders are dead. Basically, it's a delayed loss/win depending on which side you're on.

It happens even when Flag is halfway down, so nothing about a delayed loss or win. It is a bug that needs to be fixed (if possible to fix, don't know if they know how to)

Here you go.  Hope you can help.  Something about microsoft.net framework is listed.  I opened that folder to show you the versions I have.  I know nothing about how to update them or change them.  Is there a place that allows you to just down load a zip file of all the necessary files?  I could just download them and copy them into the mod folder.  Let me know if you cannot see the image.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is. Google isn't helping much either. Try running the .NET Framework 3.5 installer (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=21).

Edit: Whoops, apparently the .NET framework is up to version 4 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17851&WT.mc_id=MSCOM_EN_US_DLC_DETAILS_121LSUS007996) now.

If that doesn't work, then I apologize. One of the devs may be able to help you further.

Version 0.272 is available to download, should I update my Warband from 1.143 to 1.151 before installing it, or it was not yet ported?


PS My game crashed twice when I tried to join a server  :mrgreen: so I'll wait for response.

My 1.151 game had no problems joining, I used the launcher obviously.

Only thing was that the game said that the server is running on 0.271 still.

It worked though.

Weapons are invisible, some armor are, horses are invisible...

AND when I try to launch with cRPG launcher, it asks for activation code for Warband. I dunno is the invisible stuff caused by using WFEless Warband :oops:

I also have that problem but fixed on this way. Delete everything from comp - download v1.151 client from taleworlds - install warband - install cRPG - everythin works just fine now.

yes for all you steam users just update warband to the most recent and then update the launcher to 0.273 and it works fine.

You know, I'm one of the guys with the 5x5 steam key, and have one 4x4 key got from taleworlds web from my 5x5, but when i register the 4x4 key, crpg identifies it as another account so i don't have my characters ((the 4x4 key has never been used in crpg, and not planned to do).

So ... what to do? I'm currently playing through steam WITHOUT WSE. Don't have problems but i don't know if they can be caused by that.

i wouldn't say awsome, but balanced.
when u put together the gain and divide it with the total time 1 round (3waves) takes, it's finally balanced, now u don't loose gold anymore with medium gear and the xp i finally alike an battle server (that has an multi with x1-x3).
also the bots can tw eachother now, already seen a few tk's, wich is hilarious, altough it's still no easymode, nicely done.

Yes, I thought the same when I lost 50 % from a destrier with 6 IF, and that other round when I only lost health (and died) to horse-bumps. I thought to myself that they had to be incredibly skilled to hold their block and ride me over 2-3 times. :)

So, uhh. I assume this patch copies the .exe and renames it to 'old', and uses the 'old'.

Please indicate if you plan to do this, because it breaks every sli profile renaming exe's.  Thanks
