i didn't install anything, i just copied my c-rpg folder from steam and placed it in the normal warband folder and it works...

Anyway cmp's method didn't work for me. Starting it from the start menu that is. And there's a couple of us who said the method I posted a quick guide on worked. Just curious as to why cmp said don't do it. Otherwise it's working perfectly and I'm in EU1 atm.

1. Download the installer from taleworlds. You are not stealing, as you are the owner of a CD key. Don't worry, you ain't going to hell.

2. This is important: Do not overwrite the steam directory.

3. It didn't ask me for my CD key, probably because its already in my registry. However, if it does ask you, to the M&B:Warband section of your Steam library. You will see on the right a button for your CD key.

4. Install cRPG into your new installation of M&B:Warband.

5. Use the exe file from your new installation, not the Steam shortcut.

Here's what I did and it worked:

1) Turn off Auto-Update
2) Download Full Install from Taleworlds
3) Install in the default folder
4) Copy cRPG folder from Steamapps/common/mountblade warband, Paste into modules in default install
(Copy things like sounds and textures mods from Steam to Default)
5) Start game via desktop shortcut that creates itsself upon install
6) Profit!

This means cRPG will progress when:
1) the server files are released (right now they aren't)
2) the patch isn't broken (right now it is)

if you have a warband folder in program files aswell as steam, copy the c-rpg folder from the steam folder and paste it into the program files folder, obviously load the game up from the program files folder and it works, no need to download anything, obviously wait for an actual fix then start using your steam version again...

yea well then dont add in DO NOT OVERWRITE STEAM for personal preference if its not going to make the difference. i like to know the hours i play so i know how much of my life iv wasted lol

... see I could do all those things, or I could just not because it's effort. And whenever I try to do something with my PC it never works first time -.-
So I'll just leave it till they update cRPG, because this fix should only be a temp fix anyway

Found a full proof way (been mentioned) and cmp said not to directly install over steam files but so far it's the only method that works 100% for me.

1. Download old patch from cmps link:

or
http://download2.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1134.exe

2. Disable warband from automatically updating on steam.

3. Install the patch to your program files (default option).

3. Once it's done, rename to mountblade warband (the steam name) and copy into your steamapps/common directory.

4. Overwrite and merge ect.

5. Start crpg and there you go. You can play. No loss to mods, options, banners ect ect.
