Stop uploading/downloading "proper" .exes:
1) it's illegal
2) it's insecure

Do this instead:

Steam users download
http://download.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1134.exe
or
http://download2.taleworlds.com/mb_warband_setup_1134.exe
then install it, use your Steam key to activate it and play.

Permission to upload? Whose permission ffs? You dont need any permission to upload it.

Can someone confirm that if I turn off autoupdate, Steam Does Not try and correct it? Some people are saying that it still does it anyways...

Can confirm. It hasn't reupdated since I reinstalled the old patch.

Cancel that. It reupdated, it just didn't tell me on steam.

I did this but I can't select crpg anymore when I start the game (I can only play native).

Reinstalled crpg, did nothing.

my file is just the file that talesworld use in the warband folder

Same problem happened for me. I then restarted it again and it was there. But turned out Warband had updated again (depsite me setting it as not to) and that's the only reason I could see crpg.

Edit: Now I see why. When you reinstall the patch, it changes the updates option on steam back. SO as soon as you install the patch. Make sure you turn the updates off again.

The solution to the problem is to first turn off auto-update for M&B:W. Then go to the TaleWorlds website and download the installer (currently, it's still 1.134). Also, save it for later in case this happens again. Reinstall the game to the same directory it currently resides in (within the Steam directories); there is no need to uninstall first. Start up the game from Steam and, voila, you're back in business.

No success for me.

Here's what I did.

1. Download warband.
2. Turn off auto update.
3. Install file.
4. Start warband.
5. Start crpg.
6. O wait no...can't join a server still.
