If you get the original copy add Noc2d2 on steam, 3 Mercs are already playing it and I don't mind I don't mind finishing the coop adventure one more time.
But be careful steam version is quite buggy.

I'm still having flashing screen in main menu, navigating through flickering screens only by memory and non-flashing elements. Curiously enough, the game itself works perfectly. And it's a really good game.

TWO WORLDS II
An extreme upgrade from the first one.
It's pretty awesome.
Online content is the real seller but single player is worth it too.
I've been addicted to it on the PS3 since my graphics card fried.

I've been playing this one recently as well and I am very surprised how good it is.  I didn't care for the first that much.

Seeing as this is a modding community, you guys should appreciate MWLL.  Really fun mech warrior mod on the crysis engine

AVP Classic 2000 (steam edition.  I also have the original and gold edition on cd.  but they dont run on win 7)
Shattered Horizon  (totally under-advertised, completely awesome shooter)
Total War gaming series (shogun is still my favorite, but empires is up there)
Diablo II
Quake 3  (and subsequently the Quake Live project)
Dota ( I play HON now, but played dota non-stop for like 6 years)

System Shock 2  (omg awesome game)
Homeworld (original is waaaaaaay better than homeworld 2)

Die By The Sword is great in multiplayer (so much fun), but the single-player campaign beat me, threw me to the ground, chopped me to pieces, and then pissed on my remains. Hardest game I ever saw.

Well, flash games are never really worthy except for a few minutes.
The dolphins are cute though, so I guess we can let it stand here.


Don't know if it has already been mentioned but Jagged Alliance 2 was quite cool and I don't think they're making games like this anymore without screwing them.

Some excellent free multiplayer games: Allegiance(space fighter/command/build simulator),
Call of combat(not for ragers, you will kill yourself, only reason I stopped playing was excessive raging..Awesome game and community)

Both games have rather small and devoted communities.

My top 10 are:
X-Com UFO defense

My #1 of all time is X-Com UFO Defense (Also called Enemy Unknown) The sequel X-Com : Terror from the Deep was good too , less buggy but not as good as the 1st one. I didn't particularly liked Apocalypse.

#2 -  M.A.X - Mechanized Assault & Exploration : Classic turn based strategy game with ressources. No luck involved , it's all about pure tactics (range/stealth/armour)

#3 - Freelancer : A classic, too bad Microsoft Games pulled the plug on the sequel. Many awesome mods available and MP is great.

#4 - The Elder Scroll series (Morrowind + exp. / Oblivion + exp)

#5 - Diablo 1 & 2

#6 - Mass Effect 1 & 2

#7 - Age of Wonders 1 & 2

#8 - Lords of the Realm II

#9 - Fallout 1,2,3 (Haven't played vegas yet... shame)

#10 - Heroes Might & Magic I,II,III,IV (not V)


For Multiplayer ..  CS 1.6 , CS Source, Ragnarok Online, Freelancer, Day of Defeat,

How does the multilayer in freelancer work? I know I played it and it was like the best space action I've ever played, didn't really focused on MP though. This makes me wanna install it again.

There are just sooo many mods .. if you play straight multiplayer .. you start like in SP but no storyline .. you do missions / mining / trade and get bigger and bigger and you get to cross with other people that can pvp you... many people go get the Very Heavy Fighters and camp the planet and do missions or farm nomads or go get the unique weapons..

But the mods are nicer , you can control battleships , gunboats, etc.. and you can have big fights with other people
