Originally yes. Eventually, though, the Rus people mixed with the Slavs to the point where they practically ceased to exist. Many Varangians still came south from the Nordic countries, however. Since the historical period of cRPG isn't exactly clearly defined, we're sort of incorporating all the different phases.

Well, we hadn't even noticed that clan when we got started on this one, and the concept is pretty different overall. Anyway, they disbanded within hours of our posting and started over with a new name, so I guess it's not really much of an issue.

Seriously though, I don't think there would have been any problems with us coexisting, what with them being a small NA funclan and all, but since they decided it'd be easier for them to just rename, the matter is obviously settled with that.
