We had people with tons of different themes in the clan. I was roleplaying an andalusian type analogue in Game of Thrones, cmp was some bardiche wielding reaver, Olwen was on his french knight thing, you were a fat old hook-nosed xbow my old friend, etc, etc. Mercenaries was a good theme. Not sure how the theme itself was elitist, the clan was "elitist" at the start cause being competent at the game was a requirement. Even if we had been teutons or whatever I still wouldn't have allowed random nabs.
