Don't know, just picked generic finn city. Cities like Umeå and Skellefteå were founded by swedes, not sami, the name change probably happened alongside with the swedish language evolving.

Those samis seem nice, im sure theyre very friendly. Theyve adapted and survive in a climate where the average person would get fucked, and they enjoy their life style. Not sure why one should integrate them somehow to make them proper ikea workers, most of them already are, and do the deer herding as a sort of hobby anyways. Not like theyve got a hostile culture, or that theyve just suddenly appeared here. If youve ever been hiking, you'll probably meet some samis who are there on vacation and stuff, and theyre probably going to be incredibly nice. I know ive met some, and my mother has met many through the years.

I dont really see what difference it makes calling them swedes or not. But wanting them to integrate to become ikea workers instead of letting them keep herding the way theyve done for however long theyve been here, doesnt really seem to carry any value. I dont want them to have special treatment though. Its nice to meet them in the mountains, and deer meat is best meat.

Well then there seems to be no issue, theyre contributing, theyre culture is similar to ours, they dont really hurt anyone. Theyre changing on their own anyways, natural integration because the sami life is probably way harder than just getting a regular job. Its just weird that the government is forcefeeding them money to keep the culture alive even if it would die out on its own.
