As for starcraft and RTS games, having an insane RPM per minute and knowing strats is more important than gut instinct tactics. You can't compare the feeling you get from properly executing a strategy in an RTS game or MOBA to the visceral twitch adrenaline a reflex, twitch based game like beat em ups or FPS or Warband give.
I would agree that MOBAs are primarily autistic and 100% robotic unskilled Korean carpal tunnel simulators, but there are strategy games out there like the Wargame series that are a lot more nuanced. Definitely adrenaline inducing, at least for me at the level I play at. Back when Shogun 2 Total War was the flavor of the year (that one time when Total War had a multiplayer worth a damn) I played that competitively and I would say I got more out of it than I ever did CSGO.
That's just me though I suppose. I'm able to find Grand Strategy games like Crusader Kings and Europa thrilling so take that as you will.
I've never cared for fighting games in the vein of Mortal Combat, never really been exposed to them. Nintendo is gay AF though, I played Mario stuff when I was like 4.
The hands down most rewarding game series I've ever played would have to be Dark Souls, of course. Truly a fascinating experience, but that's a group of games that you only get out what you put in.
