Edit: This is so typical. Get some artsy pantsy cult director to give hope to people who value good movies, to lure them into cinemas. But take their creative freedom and dumb it down so your average Joe can enjoy it to the fullest.

you just gotta adjust your principles.  be a little more german and have an anschluss gene somewhere deep inside,  and every hero movie turns into a nihilistic drama.  Darth vader, magneto (although jüdisch. Not everything is shit, but can't remember when I watched American produced movie that wasn't shit? Maybe last year sometimes. It wasn't big production, that I'm sure of. Something like Coherence I really liked but that was three years ago.

Started watching Westworld with big expectations, was completely let down. Actually not completely, music is good and is always nice to see Ed Harris on big screen. He's kind of unsung hero imho.

This movie could be good, but if ends being good you can bet most folks won't like it. Because most people like stupid things like Disney Star Wars. Also they should find someone who doesn't have stupid face to be lead actor. I'm not saying he's terrible actor but Ryan Gosling has that frat boy look on his face which means I can't ever take him seriously in any role other than being dumbass char. Maybe he'll get better with age. You know who had extremely stupid look on his face that prevented him from playing anyone remotely intelligent but now as an older actor looks like someone who has bigger range of roles. Behold:

Ryan Gosling might have a frat boy face but his acting in any role I have seen him in, even nice guys(which I found pretty funny) has been low keyed mellow like and mostly serious. Now if he was goofy as well like say for instance Ryan Reynolds visitors can't see pics , please register or login
 
I would understand your apprehension and might even agree with you about his being cast in the role. But, for me anyhow, I like his movies so I have no problem with it.

Also I thoroughly enjoyed WestWorld too, Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris both were awesome. Sorry the world of the west let you down so much, the show and American movies.

Shouldn't you be working on some OK&M database or whatever you do for that open, half financed, half failed project?

Dunno why you guys even bother tbh, writing game code may seem lucrative in the short run but sooner or later your small fry studio will collapse. You know why? Because 90% of your customers are idiots. It's better to deal with someone who is capable of recognizing your efforts. They won't let you to rot after one 'bad' video game.

Good book but 'cult' movie was a failure. It's not like they are going to ruin its legacy by doing reboot.
