Fighting games are like chess, but much more fast paced. It all comes down to who has memorised more moves, rules and tactics + super fast fingers in case of fighters. I don't like chess and fighting games because of that, they rely more on knowledge and memory than actual skill. There's also the fast clicking in case of fighters, but only autistic nerds consider that a skill (I'm talking about you, cRPG tryhards).
RTS games like Star Craft are also much like that. The players all follow the same, boring meta, no creativity in their plays at all. The player who clicks faster (more actions per minute) wins.
