Same about watching sports?

true bro, although I've never understood why people like watching sports either  :P each to their own.

I suppose for me it comes down to only having a couple hours of leisure time a day; if I start watching other people play games instead of playing games myself, I'll never get through them all !

Yes, doesn't make any sense, just like watching sports.

How can you say that, since you are a perfect being of reason, and watch sports?
Or your posts in the MMA/UFC threads came from... not watching sports?
Somehow you're not making much sense one way or another!

I think its the reason why most people say they "do not understand" something. Most likely their lifestyle inhibit them from approaching something.
I find your reasons very good, it is indeed most superior to do something yourself all the time if you have the will and the means to! Even though in this case you miss some peculiar entertainment, that movies or TV fail to reproduce  :P

The caveat is that it's not weird to watch sports if you actually do the sport yourself and only watch to become better at it.

at least I sorta get why people give attention to the twitch D.Va's

what I will never understand is why the any of the big male channels are nearly so big. the are mostly really anoying and unremarkable nerds sometimes genuinely unlikeable people that I wouldn't even want to hang out with, and yet their huge sad desperate fanbase think of them as celebrities and want to give them money just to be acknowledged by them in the stream chat.

paying to be acknowledged by some hot female streamer, is in comparison very easy to sympathise with.

the only streamer I followed was theviper because he is literally a god at aoe2, he will be playing vs other best players in the world while talking to chat, alt tabbing to change music. and still out playing peoples APM/strategy.

What I usually watch is either very good people playing the game I'm currently 'maining', as to steal all the sekrit tactics and strategies. My special tickle right now is also Dark Souls 3 speedrunners, something I'd never get into doing myself but is very fun to watch. I've never donated them any money, but I don't mind them being given money for what they do specially if they're entertaining or provide good knowledge. What I will never understand is those big/top donors though, but I guess some people just don't know what to do with their money.

Not really a caveat, its just an additional reason to add to the "why watching something instead of doing it" list. You would be incredibly weird if you only dared to look at things you practice IRL.

Sounds impressive, and makes me remember a cool story.
I know a guy that was aoe2 world top 10, the few times we did LAN together with other scrubs and played that game with him, we literaly did 6-10 vs just him and he won all the time.
You would be surprised to know who this guy is.

It literally is, by definition, a caveat. It's weird to look at people chasing a ball and get super excited over it unless you chase balls yourself and want to see what you can steal from the pros.

Who was that streamer that left his stream on and opened child porn then killed himself when he found out? I can't remember the name and now I have some really weird google searches in my history. I swear there was an ED article but I can't find anything now.

Probably not the same guy, but dat cp still there

Can not understand the phenomenon of game streamers and why so many people are watching them.
Me neither , except for one guy on youtube called Gaming Lemon (not really a streamer cause he doesn't play live) - he's just freaking hilarious to me.

Some people like watching others play rather than themselves. Some like watching skillful game streamers dominate in games. Some watch for the streamers personality. And some watch for the stream slut titties.

Some put Twitch on the background like you would put the TV or music. Some watch for the personalities.
There's also communities built around things like competitive play and speed running.
I've watched a let's play because a game had a good story I was interested in but I had no intention of playing it.
Seeing someone play a game can be a good source of information for a purchasing decision. Real information about the state of the game instead of E3 marketing videos.
Some of the content creators offer great insight into the games. There's a million videos going into the details of Dark Souls lore for example.

I can't sympathize with such thirsty, pathetic neckbeards. There is no situation in which throwing money at these pseudo-whores makes sense to me. Go get an actual prostitute if that's your thing. Aknowledgement by stream sluts I rank in worth alongside a discarded condom.

Some female streamers are the worst. I see donation tiers where you can pay to add them on skype/snapchat etc

whoop de freakin do, I can accomplish the same thing for free. It is called real life. Plus you can fuck them!

Pretty much the same way mfc and sites like that work though. Pay 1000 tokens for snap chat yada yada yada.

Heck even Tumblr ect have these kinds of schemes going now. I saw an amusing one a few weeks ago where this guy accused a tumblr porn blogger of scamming people by taking their money and not giving the promised 'goods' in return e.g. pictures/videos ect. He literally started a full blown campaign and there are months worth of ranty posts about it. What a right twat for paying for that in the first place. Heck good on these girls for taking idiots money I say. If people are stupid enough to throw money away why not take advantage.

You only have to look at the phenomenon of Olivia on mfc to really understand it. That girl doesn't even take her clothes off and she was the most watched on mfc for a long time with an insanely clingey following. She'd just do movie nights (just her watching a movie), fancy dress ect and barely even talk. Plenty of articles about her if you google it.
