It matters not. What matters is that I did it and you didn't and yet you still judge me from the comfort of your keyboard. Again, blow it out your ass mate. You clearly think you're a superior specimen so enlighten me. What have you done to gain such knowledge of my experience? Are or were you a pro fighter? Have you been punched or kicked repeatedly in full contact sports? Are you a doctor?

You did what? What are you talking about? What does any of this have to do with you starting kickboxing again and not competing if you're scared of getting hurt?

It's pretty obvious that you were punched in the head a time or two too many, though. Lesson there, kids. Defense is the first thing you should learn.

Dude I'm too old now. Your argument might been relevant when I was young but it's not now. Nice try. This thread was about sprained ankles and you've missed the point. What is your recommendation? I said ice it, elevate it, and rest. What say you Gurgumul?

Damn I thought I was special when you were responding to me. I see you just like to argue and shit on threads. 33 is old? Using your SO as a excuse? Lol, damn dude. Where does your husband keep your balls when not in his mouth? Have some self worth and put some Ben gey on your vag and man the fuck up.

To op. RICE. Rest, ice, compress, elevate. I know a thing or two about injuries and not because I'm a tough pro mma fighter. Take it light though and don't come back too quick. If not properly rehab you will be prone to more ankle rolls in the future.

After reading your response I can't believe I even tried justifying myself and life decisions on the Internet. I must've been pretty drunk. I owe you nothing.

Edit: golum, I hope at least one post in this thread helped you and your ankle. I learned never to share anything about my life even when asked. Lol. Nerds are gonna nerd.

Update: Didn't do anything to the ankle other than careful walking around and mobility exercises, also testing stability standing on one foot, but the pain wouldn't let me stand on the balls of my foot. Anyway, today there is almost no swelling compared to yesterday and most of the pain is gone, aswell. What is hurting now, are all the muscles that got engaged 3 days ago, but that's probably, cause the body is focused on the ankle and should be gone shortly.

Sincerely, Bronto, I think that, if you want to do kickboxing 'just for fun' there is definetely a way to persuade your wife to let you. If, you want to do that.

Oh dude, there's no question or persuasion needed at this point in my life. I can do what I want and she'd support me. I just have more responsibility to my kids and work and not much free time. The time I have is more enjoyable spending it with family and friends. I enjoyed competing but it's no longer the focus of my life and I'm good with that. Gotta raise my own little warriors now!

You could say that you just don't want to anymore, but instead you keep finding excuses.

As for this, you won't sprain your ankle if you have fast reflexes and good body control. Bonus points if you don't weigh more than a dinosaur. Every time I've landed on my ankle I've been able to take my weight off it before any damage's been done.

That's pretty easy to say for someone below 1.7m and 60kg. Furthermore doing lots of sports leads to being in pretty uncontrollable situations like landing on someone's foot after blocking (and thus having to look up) from time to time.

I'm pretty sure the sentence wasn't that complicated, and people above 1.7m and 60kg would manage to say it easily enough as well, albeit with practice. I don't know how "uncontrollable situations" have anything to do with anything. You're always in position to shift weight away from your ankle, no matter the circumstances. I'm not sure what having to look up has to do with anything either, us normal people can control our feet without looking at them.

Can confirm. I've been 170+ cm 60+ kg, since 15 years old and never had an sprained ankle due to reflexes. But it also comes down to footwear. If you have a weak ankle and a thick sole you're in trouble, if you want to run in a forest or over rocks. Minimalist shoes might not give you ankle protection, but atleast they make your ankle stronger.
Wouldn't say that there is always a chance to shift weight Xant. When this happened to me, my other leg was still somewhere above the rest of my body, that's just poor coordination on my part, though. All I could do was brace and try to spread the force on impact, which I apparently did quite well, as I can hop around, on the hurt leg, today, without much pain.
