I bit my tongue in half like a snake and it had to be sewn together, although I did it when I was three. XD

Now that I experimented with tongue positions, it must have been that you bit your tongue through with your canine and then pulled it in real fast. Or maybe your teeth were falling at the time and you had like one tooth in the middle with spaces on either side, yeah that seems probable.

Wait for the end of the round and you'll get healed to full hp.

Yesterday, I took a free MMA training to try it out and hurt my ankle, while doing those backward rolls where you extend your feet and stand on your hands mid-roll.
Pretty fucking stupid though that they tell first-timers to do shit like that though, there are about a dozen ways to get injured doing such a move for someone who is untrained and uncoördinated.

I know, but there was nothing stoping me from not trying it, so I guess it's my fault. Should have stuck with simple backrolls.
Anyway, the ankle is itching already, so I guess it's stabilised and started healing. I was also a bit worried that it would turn blue and all sorts of colours, but it's just red from blood flow rather than ruptured veins, so it's not too bad.

Never give up man. Bones heal and chicks dig scars.

I'm older now, and have kids, so time to watch them do the sports. The only things I still do are weight lifting, and yoga. I would love to get back into kickboxing but my wife isn't so keen on the idea. I'm 33, my kids are 6 and 3, my wife doesn't want me to get seriously hurt, so I gotta respect her wishes.
"Seriously hurt"? Being a hobbyist kickboxer isn't gonna get get you seriously hurt any more than yoga will.

Are you shitting me? This is the first time ever in your life that you've sprained your ankle? Do you do absolutely ZERO physical activity up until this point? How do you get through this much of your life with only one sprained ankle? I don't understand!
As for this, you won't sprain your ankle if you have fast reflexes and good body control. Bonus points if you don't weigh more than a dinosaur. Every time I've landed on my ankle I've been able to take my weight off it before any damage's been done.

Xant I was an amateur fighter mmmmk, not a point sparring dweeb. I did this for about 4 years from 20 to 24. Last time i checked WAKO was full contact. So blow it out your ass mate.
Who cares what you were? Did you tell your wife "honey, I want to time travel back to when I was 20 and do the exact same things" and she said "no, what if you get injured"? Did you know you don't have to compete in kickboxing if you're so scared of getting seriously hurt? And even disregarding that, how many people in WAKO get "seriously hurt"?

It matters not. What matters is that I did it and you didn't and yet you still judge me from the comfort of your keyboard. Again, blow it out your ass mate. You clearly think you're a superior specimen so enlighten me. What have you done to gain such knowledge of my experience? Are or were you a pro fighter? Have you been punched or kicked repeatedly in full contact sports? Are you a doctor?

Not at all. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

So if the only reason you're not doing kickboxing is your wife, then she's holding you down.

Nice try. This thread was about sprained ankles and you've missed the point. What is your recommendation? I said ice it, elevate it, and rest. What say you Gurgumul?
