Jesus christ, are there no memorable happy experiences in your lives? This thread took a full turn into FeelsBadMan-ville. Maybe negative experiences are more interesting though, more relateable even.

First thing that comes to mind was when I saw my dead grandma lying in her bed when we went to visit her, think I was around  8 - 10.

I went to visit a grand uncle for the first time, he was a cool dude, I guess, but was basically a skeleton. I will never forget that iron grip skell handshake. Brrrrr
This is about being straight out retarded. Children see in slow motion like owls.

You're generally more likely to remember the bad.

I have two, one on each side. When I was about 13 my brother was being horrible to my mum for weeks just cos he was a cunt and my dad refused to accept it until one day he did it in front of my dad, my dad took a knife to his throat and threatened to kill him if he said stuff like that again. My brother legged it and didn't reappear for a few weeks. He was still pretty damn cuntish for a few years after until he eventually grew up.

The better one was I had a pretty bad depression spell at school but one day we played a really good game of football after school during March and it was the first warm day for a few months and I remember walking home feeling happy for the first time in a while. It was a great feeling over something so trivial as playing football.

I'll post a few good ones and skip over the bad stuff:

First experience on mushrooms was life changing and put me in touch with the universe. It is really hard to describe what that means.

Meeting Bret Hart and Mr. T.

During a soccer/football game in the semi-finals our team only had 10 people with no subs and I was the goalie. 80% of the game was played on our side of the field. During the last quarter the other team was down and they played full offensive, everyone except the goalie was on our side and it was a constant stream of shot attempts until the end of the game. It was raining and at night time, but we pulled through and won 2-1. I remember when the whistle blew I dropped down to lay in a puddle of mud/water completely exhausted. I was mobbed by my team shortly after. :) We have the game recorded on vhs.

Winning a large 60 person MTG tournament and walking out with a ton of swag.

Anytime I'm around my 3 childhood friends, 25 years and still going strong.

Nate Diaz beating Conor Mcgregor. I fucking went ballistic.

Playing through Kotor 1 the first time.

Getting my first puppy, black and white border collie named Rocky. I miss him a lot but its a happy sadness.

Maybe negative experiences are more interesting though, more relateable even.

2012: downloaded cRPG the first time, immune system was strong and I was clean again after 2 weeks.

2014: suffered a 2nd time

2016: doctors say it doesnt look good
Maybe if Coronoa virus gets rid of 50 percent or more of the world population we can do without a pope and religion.

If my happy experiences revolved around playing Pokemon on Gameboy with my fellow nerds, I would probably kill myself by now.

PS. It was Diablo II.

Sweet, what kinda deck? im quite scrubbish on the MTG, started a bit more than half a year ago, playing with friends only though. Rocking a Colorless sultai deck, pretty fun, allthough still needs tinkering.

PS. Diablo stinks, its all about the portable gameboys, we had lans all day err day

I played MTG like ten years ago. You think cards gain value over time?  :D

It really depends on the expansions i believe, theres always a couple of cards of value, lands mostly, but other than that you want the very first expansions for value, and i think thats like 20 years ago +.

Childhood memories are something to cherish id say, but from your post it seems we had a bit of a different childhood.

I've had Game Boy as a little kid. Played Mario, Megaman, TMNT, MK, Contra and games that came on compilation catridges. Think that I've had few of standalones, my favorite being Wario Land. Around 1995. I've lost interest in GB. Got my first PC instead of Playstation (thank god and my father for that). My interest was occupied by different brand of games, for mature audience. Games like that never existed on my SNES, Mega Drive or Game Boy. Because of that I really feel for children and teens who were raised on console games. They are simplified on purpose to reach larger audience, and that wasn't the case for games that were made for Windows during golden decade (1995-2005).

By the time Pokemon became popular, I was already too mature for it.

The thing with them being simplified though is that they reach more audiences who otherwise would turn away. And then those that want more complex shit, have that to chose from still. So it really doesnt change anything but make more people play vidya.
