If Charm can afford to buy such a car he's doubtfully suffering from loneliness.
Tell that to Elliot Rodger.
Well, it depends on how cynical one is, and how little occupied one is in his life.
Some are perfectly satisfied with an arrangement where both parts get what they need - as in he gets the exclusive access to her body, and she gets access to, most commonly, his money or his connections / lifestyle.
And some, as with Supreme Gentleman, want a mutual romantic affection. And they try to improve themselves and their life for a sole purpose of increasing their value in the eyes of a female. He did not want to buy, but impress and attract through material possessions and supposed sofistication of "inner mechanics".
So even Charm could buy a years supply of whores for the price of that car, he was not willing to be that cynical, and as a result he was most likely crying himself to sleep a lot, and came to a wrong, but inevitable in his case, conclusion that all women are heartless bitches, and the world is unjustly cruel to him.
