It's a shame, though, DayZ in concept is great. Though it looks like Tarkov just may fill the void.

Yeah, looks largely the same, without zombies (which are non-existent in DayZ anyway). Then again I don't see the long-term fun in it as well. Will we just walk around, loot shotgun shells one shell at a time and shoot people? Where's the meta here?

Yep, that's the problem with DayZ too. Though in Tarkov there'll be some kind of leveling up, might help with that.

Well, i heard somewhere that there is going to be a campaign for Tarkov.

Makes you wonder what the DayZ team has been doing for 4 years when their competition makes entire games in the time frame it takes them to add a blue version of a red jacket.

I guess some new locations will be added after some time. Yet, even by thinking that the game's life might be short story-wise, it should have more replayability than most titles nowadays.

Tarkov will be a story-drivengame. You'll unlock locations throughout missions and after that you can play free-roam style.

Now that the alpha is out, what do you think? Is it worth getting? If I were to buy it, I'd choose the €110 version because it has the season pass, but the price is very discouraging obviously. Also I still don't trust unknown devs who promise a lot after WarZ Infestation: Survivor Stories and OKAM tbh

Right now, you'll mostly encounter fresh spawns with nothing but a pistol, check some recent youtube vids. In fact, most people don't even bring pistols, they fight with knives because of the lack of money. If this forum gets resurrected, I'll probably post some update when the NDA thing is lifted. Just stay away from it until the closed beta.
