I have been following this for time and it has just been released the other day - anyone played it yet?

Post-apocalyptic turn based isometric role-playing game, looks very inspired by FO2 and has good reviews on Steam so far.

I am really curious about this one too. Feedback from someone who has given it a try will be much appreciated.

Of course, just showing my national pride

Haven't yet bought this game, but I've tried free demo few years ago, when author of this game came to local forum to advertise it (its a strong word, he said hey guyz I made a game, please check it out). Used to be called Timelapse Vertigo before that.

Never really asked him why he took upon himself to create true Fallout successor but I'm guessing it had something to do with Fallout 3. Some of us a bit enjoyed it for being different, some downright hated it and refused to acknowledge its existence as part of Fallout series and there are people like Styg who decided to make their own Fallout 3.

The consensus on rpgcodex seems to be very positive and that it's a better game than Wasteland 2. They say the story is better, the graphical style looks better, the dialogue more concise and mechanics are more interesting. And aimed shot is back. Looking at a few release version game play videos I have to agree.

I too am interested in this game. The biggest draw for me is that doesn't require you to micromanage a full group of people. Seems like you control only 1 character which I prefer.

Bought Underrail some days ago and I can highly recommend it. Great atmosphere and interesting mechanics. Lots of detail. Just started another character to try the oddity xp system instead of the classic one. Seems like a pleasant alternative for this type of RPG, where instead of getting xp for grinding enemies, picking locks or disabling traps you get xp for finding 'oddities', unique items scattered across the game world (while still getting quest xp). Makes avoiding combat more worthwhile and emphasizes exploration.

The rpgcodex preview, which is pretty in-depth: http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=9657

I actually played some Crusader: No Remorse again only a few weeks ago. Had forgotten how bad the controls were, even if you play it enough to get somewhat used to it. I remember people saying it worked better on the PS1.

Underrail is awesome. Considering that I have never bought for single player and I did buy this one says a lot.

Game is basically Deus ex, FO and Metro combined. I also made a OP cheating character next to my regular character. Some fights are completely unwinnable with a maxed our char and very good gear and you have to play it smart. I did very well on my regular character because of my cautious playstyle. Spared a lot of money and gear and finished most objectives by going around enemies.

Did you play with the classic or oddity xp system? I didn't feel like starting all over again (for the third time) so I'm continuing my classic playthrough, but I'm looking forward to trying oddity. And yes, the game keeps you on your toes, I also just sneak around or go through ventilation shafts to avoid many encounters.

The developer recommends oddity. Also what most people on various forums recommend.

Crafting skills seem like kinda useless. When you have some degree of killingpower with hacking and lockpicking you will earn enough to buy all that stuff anyway. Plus even with my cheating char which looted just about everything I still needed to buy some materials.

I didnt go for the psi skills on my first char and it was kinda of a mistake. They are incredibly powerful + you get to spare the bullets and your weapons dont get broken if you use them. Probably the best one is the "mental breakdown" skill which turns an enemy into a vegetable for 3 turns(unless he recieves damage) giving you enough time to deal with the others or get close enough for the stabbing, or give a few stabs and shots at the enemy before you use it. It has low AP cost. "Electrokinesis" and "whatevers punch" are solid too. The rest not so much.
