My dad, being a good soviet pioneer boy (he's 81), made a call to a zoo and asked what we should do, so they told us to stick the curtain together with the bat out the window and let it fly away. And so it did. I didn't actually know bats live in cities like that, or maybe this one was just a stranger.

Actually bats often live in cities (though not the same bats that live in forests for example). Usually in those ventilation holes just under the roof.
