My dad gets nasty swelling like that from mosquitoes, black flies, and horse flies. Too many and he gets chills and sweats like crazy. Benadryl cream helps with the swelling.

Theyve dissapeared, basically they grow massive the day after the bite, and then my body consumes them the day after that. Good to know anyways, allthough im too lazy to bother with anything tbh, since so far i havent really gotten any other reactions but the massive swelling.

Seems like a cool idea against disease-carrying mosquitoes to be honest. As far as I know there already have been attempts like that against rabbits in Australia. The problem is always that it's exponentially hard to kill the last 10% and preserve the purity of the mosquito race.

I have found that basic cheap rubbish moisturiser smells and tastes bad for mosquitoes and midges, so they're more reluctant to go for you.

What this means is that they're reluctant, not that they wont try if you're the *only* food in sight.

But here's where the absolute defensive strategy comes into play. When it's bug season, you want to hang around with people that are more delicious than you. So you don't need to taste bad by putting that shit on you, you just need to smell less good that the other people nearby to those mozzies. It works! Doctors hate me.

Cheers, will try at some point. Allthough im not one that hates mosquitoes much, compared to most in my region. I like to endure them as a challenge, makes them much more bearable. And since most areas here are completely filled to the brim, nothing really works  well enough from what Ive tried.
