I'm sorry mate but it really is not the same, if you were doing weights to help you at your chosen sport fairplay. Total respect for that because real athletes like endurance competetiors, like swimmers, runners and skiers need weights to give them the edge. But if you are doing weights to "look better" and feel more confidant about picking up girls that is as vain as you can get. Seriously you don't need to follow the sheeple, not all girls give a shit about how big your bicep is lol (albeit many do because they are just as vain). If you want to feel a strong independent minded Male, don't follow the commercialisation of all this gym bullcrap. Get outside, do body weight stuff, some real physical work like building dry stone walls or something if you want to get strong.
How do you know Saxon, me or
anyone you don't personally know lifts for looks, to feel more confidant or to "impress girls" or anything similar?
I for my part don't. When I started going to the gym many years ago it was because a good friend and I were quitting the aikido-club we were part of for many years in our later childhood/early teens. He already was member in our local gym through his parents, and I said: Ok, you like sport, you want to do something healthy, and why not enter the gym and look what you can do there?.
And here I am.
Also, I'm not doing 'bodybuilding', more like powerlifting. I'm trying to push my strenght a bit more in every single session and my very focus lies on the 4 big basic exercises. Of course I am doing extra exercises for arms, abs and shoulders, but that isn't my focus.
I do what I do so I can write that 1 more rep or 2,5 more kg's in my book and be satisfied with myself. Good looks is the second part, that practically comes alone if your training and your nutrition is somewhat right.
I won't deny that in my very early gym-time (when I was like 15-17 years old) one thought connected to the gym always was "Oh, when you have muscles, gurls will like you better bruh". But well, that's long ago, and I don't think any male older than 18 in the gym thinks like that, and if, he's mentally retarded anyway.
