WARNING: Don't read if you don't like that kind of discussion
Akronus97 calling this "dumb" or whatever he said (to lazy to look at his post) and using sarcasm to try to gain sympathy for his point of view which is probably a deeper issue than guys showing their bicep lol.
I can honestly say my bicep is my weakest and smallest muscle
First of all it is important that you fully read my comment. Second, the usage of sarcasm doesn't have to be something negative. It is one way to convey criticism with humour which doesn't weaken the message itself in any way. Also, why do I have an issue because I make fun of this thread just because it is obviously for some people just a way to show off. Apart from that this method of criticism wasn't used in order to gain sympathy, I used it to illustrate the current behaviour of some people in here. I could have written a long essay, but why would I do that if I am able to put it into 2 lines?
Btw, inspiring people to exercise is a great thing, but this is obviously not the purpose of those pics. I agree that egoistic is the wrong term in this context (I haven't used it so far), narcisstic would describe it way better. Presenting your own muscleses is a typical behaviour of men attempting to show how strong and manly they are. This is nothing else than a relict from the time in which humans ran around with vestigial weapons in order to survive, a circumstance which is not of any relevance to modern society (at least in almost every situation). By using the term "bigges alpha" it is simply stressed what feeling you guys get when you upload and share your Biceps-pics. The behaviour described above is nothing else than savage.
Now you made me write an essay, something I wanted to avoid, but I felt too much the urge to tell you that sarcasm is not distinctive for personal issues. Just upload as many pics of yourself as you want, I don't really care, it would be your buisness if you didn't upload it on a public forum. That's why you have to live with justified criticism.
In the Olympics when someone wins a gold medal, do you call them vain when they have pictures with their gold medal? no it's just them achieving something and being proud of it.
That goes with everything in life. What's with all these depressing comments..jesus..
Usually you don't join the olympics because you want to show off with your medal. And yes, it is an accomplishment worth celebrating because they worked years unbelieveably hard for it. But just showing off with your Biceps in the Internet? Compared to that it is really trivial.
Also, an opposing or critical opinion is not necessarily a proof for being depressive. Although it is a well working tacitc
