Lol I really opened a can of worms here with my vanity statement xD Anyway if you wanna be a real alpha man get outisde of your cosy indoor gym caves and out into the fresh air. Go run up some mountains, swim in some rivers and chuck some rocks and tree logs. You'll be stronger than ever I promise :)
This is such stupid idealization and I don't get why you feel like doing something outside is more respectable than doing it in the gym. You are also plainly wrong, the degree of control you have over your workouts in the gym, means that you will never get more efficient workouts outside of it, regardless whether you go for size, strength or conditioning. Just because many people decide to use this control to workout for size, does not mean that you can't do anything else, which is very evident from the fact that any professional athlete spends a lot of time in the gym.

There are benefits of workout obviously, but they are not as great as you think they are. Also, there are certain disadvantages you might not know, but whatever, have fun with your biceps :D

Absolutely feel free to list these "disadvantages" you're hinting at, at any time. Until then I'm just gonna assume you're a couch potato.

Buddy of mine is competitive rower for 18 years now.
Never did any real gym traning, looks skinny as fuck, no huge biceps...

...and still I am very confident that he'll arm wrestle every single one of you people in seconds, with all your air in your arms  8-)

That's why I think that "hitting the gym yo" is silly. I've seen people breathing hard while carrying some table water bottles across the parking place with upper arms like legs. Do some real sports instead of hiding in some gym, doing exercises all alone and still claiming you're better than some coach dweller sitting there all alone. :P

But, whatever rocks your boat I guess. I still think it's silly.

Btw Molly, arm wrestling is mainly forearm strength

Why don't you consider it a real sport then? I do several sports and would consider it a sport like the others, although not a team sport, but that's not the same. :)

Who said people lift alone?

Well fact is, NA players are mostly casual normies not knowing mechanics & who would have no chance against competitive EU players on the same ping.

Stupid idealization? Surely you can agree that humankind has lost so much touch and is now disconnected with nature. In my eyes this is a tradgedy, how can encouraging people to go outside and exercise which has a whole host of benefits be stupid idealization? Mate, running for example is the best exercise a human being can do, period. Us humans are made for running, every single baby and young child are great runners, it is only the unfortunate environmental factors which then come into play to make you think you cannot and and never will run to a good standard (wrong physique or what have you). I did'nt say gyms dont have their place, as you say for professional athletes they need that exact degree the best sports science can bring. For the average person, only exercising in a gym is really harmful.

Seriously i could rant on for a while about how modern humans are so disconnected with nature we are just letting it be destroyed without a second glance, also que climate change. Anyway another time another thread ^^

Period? What facts do you base this statement on? Do you mean running only or do you include all the sports that involve running in this statement?

Anything with running yes. Have a look into how good running is for the body and brain. Its natural, if you understand human biomechanics, not so long ago our ancestors were running on the savannah, wearing down animals in teams.
