Except the massive deficit in national budget came from an economic recession caused by the collapse of big banks and the government being forced to bail them out.

Trust me it didn't.

Greece was already in a bad shape *and lying about it* far before the crisis.

The country is dysfunctional, there's no other way to put it. The fiscal laws and social programs are so incredibly broken that "cheating" in Greece is almost something you do without realizing. Want an example? You don't pay any land value tax on buildings that aren't finished. Result? 80% of buildings in Greece are "under construction". It's small things like that, everywhere. For this kind of stuff, it's unfair to call your average Greek a cheater. However, your average Greek is also the one who elected politicians who never reformed those broken systems.

We're gunna get fucked, Greeks ain't gunna pay. Dat garbage of Euro goin down.

Prepare for prices goin up!

I have no idea why you're saying that. It's not like anybody expects that debt to be repaid even assuming Greece stays. If tomorrow EU countries stop giving more money to Greece it will literally mean using it for useful things (hopefully).

Ultimately, the referendum ending up with "no" is not a surprise and it also literally changes nothing. Greece is still fucked up, that Titanic image perfectly describes the situation. If the result was yes then it would have changed many things, but it's pointless to discuss that now. All the other EU countries are just about fed up with Greece's bullshit. Times are difficult for everybody. Take Belgium for example, the standard retirement age will be brought up to 67! It is unfair that Greeks should live above their means while other EU countries pay for them. Considering Siriza's program, giving them any more money is like throwing it into a black hole.

I only want to make one point here.
Holy shit, you Europeans can retire before 67? Shit. It's been 67 for a Long time in the US.

Sadly, I say this is the US in say twenty years.

It's 62 here in France, but probably gonna be pushed back to 65 soon. The social system is imploding under it's own weight, it was set up during the post-war boom and was predicated on the assumption that the population would keep growing. Now that the population is contracting, growing older on average, there is an ever larger proportion of retirees to be supported by an ever shrinking number of workers.

haha, I remember I was in Greece once as a child in mid-90s and one of the images I still have is concrete houses with those steel bars sticking out of them everywhere around the Isle I was.

I taste some tasty German & German muppet tears.

All of you speak like Greece is the devil on  earth, oh sweet baby jesus, how much I wish for  default, I can already taste your then tears when you realize that you just lost 320 bil Euros.

Even if we default, we are gonna make it no matter what, we were here longer than you suckers, 2300 years and counting.

P.S If Greece gets kicked out of the European Union, will you keep the term European? Because Europe is a Greek word

Don`t be mad suckers, Greece is all around.

P.S2 I guess when the Germans were loaning money to the Greeks in order to buy broken military equipment from German companies, everything was ok!!!

P.S3 Greece maybe the first, but it certainly won`t be the last, sooner or later poor Germoney won`t have anyone to bully over, what a shame

What the fuck do you think is going on in Greece right now?

Do you think we kill each other for a loaf of bread

Stop eating the bad stuff your media feeds you.
As for me, I will always be fine, I grew up poor, and now that I make more money than 75% of the Greeks, my life is really easy.

Don`t hate, I`m pro european, because I always admired the humongous evolution that most EU countries had, but I`m not gonna sit back and watch you make us look like the devil.
