Is there a mod that will keep the bodies on the field for the duration of the match? An odd question, but I like to see the remnants of a chaotic battle.

I think that's in the settings when you start the game. Maximum number of ragdolls = unlimited

eh, aren't ragdolls the special dying animations like a dying rider slowly sagging from his ongoing horse? I think they disabled unlimited corpses at some version to reasons unknwown to me.

No, Just keep the number on unlimited or 100+ since every server only has 120 max slots.
I think it doesn't have a big impact on performance in multiplayer, but maybe in singleplayer when you fight with hndreds of bots on horses.

now I had to check, maximum number of corpses is 150, the option unlimited doesn't exist. 150 should be enough for every server, though of course you could produce much more corpses in siege mode.

the example for a ragdoll on a horse was just an example, ragdolls also fall from rooftops or twist their bodyparts in weird angles when dying.
