Revert this Roll Nerf. fs

I can roll a my old friend, roll a joint, but no. I simply cannot make my character roll.

Then why does this thread exist? But since the change some people, not necessarily you, but some are having trouble executing the roll. Turning it from a double-tap with no other keys selected into a single-key would make it easier

Well, the timing isnt too bad now, its harder but i can do it almost every bump. To me its about the distance and i-frames, because rolling barely helps now.

Well other people (and yourself on page 1) were saying that it is now hard to do reliably vs knockdowns, as a suggestion perhaps the removal of double-tap would compensate for the smaller window and save you the fraction-of-a-second necessary to make the roll.

Can't comment on the difference in input personally since I always forget it's a feature until just *after* I've hit the ground xD i'm still too accustomed to native

Oh right, i barely ever get knocked down so i dont really consider that part, against bumps i do it all the time, but the few times i get knocked down i cant really predict the knockdown so i couldnt really do it pre-patch.

I just want to be able to atleast survive a team bump in front of an enemy, without having to double tap A or D before i even get bumped over.

80% of the time I play, I'm on my main, a 1h shield dude.  I don't have a cav character right now.

I use the roll every time I get knocked down (or, I try to anyways!).

The old roll was very ...um...how you say..."silly".  It was kind of like a break-dancing tumble-fly that launched your character at high speed like 4 meters away from where you fell.  It was a little bit big-crazy.

The roll now is more reasonable.  You simply hit the ground and roll away.  Sometimes it saves you, sometimes not.  I like it better.

Fair enough. I cant relate, as dying to bump knockdowns is more infuriating than anything, a get out of jail free card is amazing to have, and it shouldnt be a dice roll whether it works or not..

Guys everytime i see someone roll in front of me enemy or friend (you can ask gurnisson he can back me up on this) it has never saved them, i simply turn a little bit and kill them or hit them as they are standing up, it doesn't work anymore seriously now, it doesn't work. you can't evade anything when you roll now. i've seen it with my eyes.

the amount of times i have said in teamspeak that the roll is a "big fucking help now" as i have just killed someone who successfully rolled in front of me feeing sorry for them is crazy, and i shame his team-mate who was the one who bumped him down.

If you're lucky, you'll avoid the "kick-up" with the roll, that's it for usefulness (which can help a bit if you fight a weapon with knockdown to avoid the endless cycle of knockdowns). The distance could do with a tweak, but probably shouldn't be fully reverted.

When I searched for the word "unplayable" in this thread, I only found your post, Heskey. Useless =/= Unplayable, though I don't find it completely useless, just almost!
