What is the best class to quickly gain xp in and progress? I just started playing and I see a lot of people taking commando, but I just went with field medic the first couple of rounds I played.

The only thing I can recommend to improve the amount of XP you gain, is to try to have as many assists as you can. Having a weapon like a SMG to land one bullet on everyone or a flamer is really good. Medics/zerkers are the most viable classes atm, so they're easier to play, followed by Commando/support/Firebug, and then, followed by the useless demo. As a level 12 demo, and I can say that you don't want try to get on suicidal unless you're playing with friends that will protect your arse while you're loading that RPG over and over.

Gunslinger is out since a while now, pretty fun class actually, having like 3 sets of dual wield pistols. Also the game now has cases like csgo, but keys can actually drop aswell so thats pretty nice of them.

Meh, the content hasn't been updated for months now, except for small fixes and stuff. I somewhat regret they don't make content a little bit faster, or at least try to communicate with the players a bit more often.

They said they would release a new class every month basically, but that being flushed was to be expected. Theyre a bit slow on the class releases, but on the otherhand it keeps me coming back each patch, even though i might not be interested in the new classes.

We tried it a lot yesterday. Zeds win almost every time. The player controlled ones have obscene amounts of health (especially bloats and gorefasts), they can perma sprint constantly and deal some hefty damage. That and being mobbed by players and normal zeds I didn't see any survivor, bar one group on Farmhouse, survive the 4 rounds to the boss. More often than not they were dead in the 1st round.

Really they need some hefty balance work on it. The zeds should either have less health, or not being able to perma sprint. And the survivors should start with better weapons as it's only 4 rounds.

It could even work if they rebalanced it to be the full 10 rounds and started off with fewer zeds. The big problem is you only have starting weapons against massively tanky player controlled zeds in the 1st round so out of the 10 games I played only about half did the survivors get past the 1st round and only 1 out of those 10 made it through the boss. We decided not to play it again until they do some patching on it.

Some balancing might be in order, but the players need to "learn" the mode too.

A lot of it is simply the fact that some classes are useless. Medic, beserker and support are great due to tankyness for the first 2 and fire power for support. But classes like the firebug and commando just suffer. The firebug doesn't do damage quickly enough to warrant being used and the commando runs out of ammo pumping bullets into bodies because headshots are now useless, likewise for gunslinger.

I don't think there's much learning needed. All the zeds have to do is mob as a group. Even with uncoordinated attacks it was far to easy for 3 player zeds to mob one player, kill them, then be killed by the other players before insta re-spawning and doing it again. As long as you attack the same player that other zeds are attacking you have a guaranteed kill. Particularly if you get a few gorefasts and a bloat in the mix. Not to mention the husk suicide. That is a guaranteed insta kill. Even if you're on full health as a survivor if you are anywhere near it it takes you down to 10/20 health. Then you can be picked off very quickly even with a medic working overtime.

You can't expect to play this mode for the first time and nail it. The zeds are favored, but it's not THAT unbalanced imo. In my first match against the zed players we got to the patriarch wave (but then we got rekt). All it needs is a cooperative and diversified team. Some maps are easier to play than others. I do agree that the survivors deserve more dosh earned in waves and maybe the regular zeds should get a small nerf in health.
