I really liked playing the galactic conquest mode in bf2. Sure the AI wasn't super good but it was still fun for me. Plus the wampa thing in bf2(?) was fucking fun. Had a blast doing that with friends.

When you mean weapon cutomization, it shouldn't be considered bad until some point (ex : Insurgency provides a gameplay where you can customize your weapons, but you'll have to sacrifice something else, like a holo sight can be switched for a flash nade). If they make it grind based + without a class system, then it's another EA disaster with star wars' theme. Also, no space battles is plain disapointing.

Can't wait also for the multiple DLCs, like : "get access for this awesome char/weapon/skin for only 10€". Nothing to see here, but a plain disappointment, despite the hype considering it's star wars.

I like the Battlefield series. But it's like EA is taking other series and killing them off whilst Activision is killing their own series instead lol.

I wish BF1+BF2 were more populated. Great games back in the day. And remember when i didn't have internet on my PS2 and played only campaign and instant action with bots on BF1. Was so much fun even with it not being MP.

Exactly, these games don't NEED multiplayer to be insanely fun. I didn't play bf1 or bf2 online since I never hooked my ps2 up to the internet, but I still had a blast playing splitscreen with my neighbor against bots or each other. Eventually, I got bf2 for pc just a few years ago for a couple bucks and played on the near-dead servers a few times. All anyone did was run around as the OP rocket troopers or jet troopers... I was the only one man enough to go assault and somehow managed to top the boards with my puny machine gun and leet rolling tactics. I honestly had more fun playing vs bots since there was at least some variety in their tactics/class selection. It wasn't just a dumb rocket spamfest. Granted DICE does know how to balance a game a lot better for multiplayer so I'm sure those same issues won't persist, I still don't find it necessary to focus solely on multiplayer when they can easily code in AI of at least the same (dumb) level as the ps2 era games. Surely they have some code/scripts they can reuse from some old game they've made, could edit them slightly and boom, instant action mode with bots is back. Half the fun from that mode was being god-tier since the AI was such shit.

And you still praise consoles. While you were playing limited campaign with bots on PS2, I was playing BF in local with 64 players. Yeah, it was in net cafe but I knew everybody in there and it was epic experience.

I grew up with N64, Dreamcast, PS1, NES, PS2, GC etc and consoles so probably why. Even though i did play AOE2 like crazy when i was a kid. And atleast bots don't use gay tactics and stuff like Jona said.

When BF1942 was released, most people who were playing were excited they will finally be able to take part in real WW2 battle with tanks and planes. They didn't try to exploit the game at first. That shit started with BC2 and exploded with bug fest called BF3.

Another bf style game with no mods and premium dlc whoring

Are there any actual gameplay videos of this instead of scripted trailers?

You mean how boring and simpleminded the AI in those early games are? I'll admit it was easy to get by when you were as simpleminded as the AI in the game but in a reasonable grown up perspective you should expect more. SP is completely unappealing to me at this point.

- You end up with gay servers with gay rules (especially when the games population is almost non-existant

- They camp and use unconventional and weird tactics.

- (Not saying this is in Battlefront but other series) Bots don't use guns with purple/pink/stupid camos

- It doesn't feel like all out war if the servs aren't completely full

- Eventually the games pop is gonna die down and you'll need dem bots.

BF 2 was great in coop or local multiplayer, but online kinda sucked. Way too easy to troll and TK, or if Friendly fire was off it because easy to run up close as smuggler and det-pack without hurting yourself, same with vanguard and mines

At this point I personally don't know what to feel towards the new game. Obviously my nostalgia can't cope with this and the classic is dead. But this "new" take might be interesting. Only thing that really bugs me is that you can play as a female on the Empire side ...
