I still played a fuckton of BF2, and loved certain maps. But space combat was only really cool for a bit, i guess i had such high expectations when i first played it in campaign it seemed massive and huge and complex. After a few more i realized there wasnt much to space battles and the whole boarding ships thing was semi-useless.

Assault on Mos Eisley, again was fun but after a few mins? And playing it online, sweet jesus the QQ... everyone on villain team played with character with force choke, it's unblockable, inescapable and they walk up to you and slash your tiny sum of hp left after it whilst you're still in the sprawled animation. Anyone on the hero team had a character with force pull, if anyone anywhere in sight pulls you then you enter an inescapable sprawling animation towards them and they can slash you as you lie infront of them. It got so bad many of the servers removed force powers

Agreed. Multiplayer was kind of a joke. You never realized how unbalanced the game was until you got online and everyone was playing as a rocket trooper, sith lord with force choke, some sort of bomber ship, etc. That said... is the new bf going to even have bots?!?!?! Cuz if not, I ain't gonna buy that shit.

This footage looks like from that Star Wars; Battlefield 2 or 3 mod, and there also looks like some modded Star Wars battlefront 2 stuff in there as well.  Please don't take anything from this vid as I reckon it's highly suspect as mentioned by others.

Looks like early access is 1st of December 2015 (pre-order reward), 8th for release.
More time for reviews I guess.

EDIT: no system Reqs as of yet, I expect it to be similar to BF4 tbh.

So I've done some digging, and here are the (mostly disappointing) facts I've found so far:

- Only 4 planets to fight on when the game launches, with more to come via DLC of course. ONLY FOUR. WTF! (hoth, endor, sullust (not seen in the movies), and tatooine)
- No campaign mode (but there will be a few short solo/co-op missions)
- Already planning DLC, even though the game isn't even finished (nothing new here, typical DICE/EA move). At least the first DLC will be free, and is based on a planet from episode 7 (Jakku).
- No space battles
- No prequel era
- Supposedly there is both first AND third person view (yay!)
- You can play as heroes/villains again, as well as iconic ships like the millenium falcon
- No confirmation if there will be singleplayer with bots (but probably not, other than the few "campaign" missions)

Not looking good so far, but if they really make those four maps/planets complete masterpieces, it could be decent. 

EDIT: So apparently four planets doesn't mean just four really large maps, since the DLC planet is coming with two maps set on that planet. Still would be nice to have more varied scenery, regardless.
EDIT 2: It appears as though the class system will be similar to the battlefield games (surprise, surprise) where you can customize your weapon loadout. Maybe there won't even be a class system anymore, nothing was really mentioned about that.

Definitely not pre ordering. Not like I was planning on it but if I was going to consider it at all, definitely not going to now.

Basically, this is just a reskinned battlefield, as we all feared. No space battles, since battlefield didn't have a mode like that which they could easily reskin. All the time that they would have normally spent making a short campaign like in the battlefield games (does battlefield even still have a campaign mode? I stopped playing those games after bfbc2) was instead probably used to tweak vehicles to behave more like spaceships instead of jet fighters, or walkers instead of tanks. That, and they had to create the mechanics for lightsabers/force powers/jetpacks/etc. Still not impressed in the slightest.

The campaign was alright, nothing outstanding. What I will miss however is the instant action mode where you play any multiplayer map filled with bots. This mode gave the games infinite replayability, since you can still play it long after the online community died. Not to mention that there is just something so much more satisfying about being a fucking hero and slaughtering a bunch of bots, even though you are technically on even footing with them power-wise. I don't feel like getting 360 no scoped by leet mlg gamers online all the time.
