Grumbs, nothing is true, everything is opinion. There is no such thing as objectivity. Idiots will argue this while using the internet, something that only exists because of an extremely long chain of knowledge built on observation of the universe around us over many generations. Relativist bullshit is the root of post-modern thinking. You can prance about and go "lol internet arguements" all you like Heskey. It's not like this is a huge philosophical debate that has shaped academia for the past decades or anything, of which internet arguements among mere plebs such as us are a symptom, right?
I'm not an atheist. I'm agnostic. I am more than willing to consider the possibility of on overarching consciousness controlling the universe, or a creator that sparked it's existence. It can't be proved one way or another, we simply don't have the tools to even begin to quantify. What can be easily, EASILY argued, is that none of the fumbling guesses, wishfull thinking, codified and completely arbitrary social mores masquerading as natural laws and straight up cynical manipulations for political/material control that describe literally every organized religion that mankind has ever spawned are all equally "true" or even slightly near the mark.
If i were to entertain the possibility of god's existence, it doesn't follow that I should somehow take seriously the possibility of Ashur, or Thor, or Toutatis, or Jupiter, or the relatively incredibly recent and modern abrahamic monotheistic interpretation. From the very begining of civilization religion was a tool of control for the elites over their subjects. I don't know how a thinking human being can read up on ancient Egypt or Assyria and not realize that, or any of the THOUSANDS of other organized religious systems whose sole purpose was to reinforce and perpetuate a preexisting social order. Even a superficial and cursory knowledge is more than enough to reach the obvious conclusion. What's particularly galling is to pretend science is just another belief system, as equally as valid and "true", but that's par for the course for post-modern idiots. If we will ever discern the true nature and existence of god, if there is one, it will be through science, not dogmatic rote repetition of what a prophet who was objectively more ignorant of reality than most school age children are today thought was super important.
