Didn't they say Extended Universe isn't and never be canonical and they don't give a shit about it?

Quite possible, news to me though. Then again I pretty much ignore anything Lucas et all say these days.

Of course they did. Shitty books for pre teen autists don't make money so they aren't "canon" whatever that means for a fictional universe.

Disney and EA are canon, not two-bit dimestore authors that Lucas skimmed a cut from years ago.

No one posting in response to me understands a thing about Hollywood film production either. Thanks for embarrassing yourselves out of bizarre juvenile star wars fandom attachment that is no better, actually tangibly much more pathetic than, 13 year old girl Hunger Games fans.

At least Hunger Games has probably inspired millions of people to read or write their own books. Star Wars has inspired billions to make shitty posts on the internet. And will eventually make trillions from it.

You remind me of these girls in school asking at the age of 13: "What, you are still reading comics? That's for children, I'm too grown up for that." That really hurt me, 'should there be a time when I'm too old to like Asterix?' - Gladly I'm grown up now and know that it's not true.
Ha ha, I remember those kind of girls - didn't mean it like that. Asterix is great, original, and doesn't take itself too serious - unlike the modern SW movies. I can still enjoy some fantasy/Sci Fi games for example, or a good Arthur C. Clarke or Frank Herbert novel or short story. It's more about growing tired of the lack of originality (genre conventions aside), and the tendency to oversimplified, black and white storytelling and characters prevalent in the genres than an age question, I guess - though of course these things can be connected. I've always preferred non-fiction, but admittedly more so with age. I could probably still enjoy some of the better Star Wars expanded universe litterature, like the Thrawn Trilogy or perhaps some of the Legacy books (but can wonder how much of that is nostalgia), and I know I can still enjoy fantasy like the Silmarillion. I'd rather have some steam punk or post apocalyptic universe though, a modern take on the genre like A Song of Ice and Fire, if it must be fantastical, but rather fiction 'classics' (there's a lot of excellent 19th century litterature) or post-modern, but I'd still be more inclined to read history or philosophy.

This.

Star Wars just has an extremely childish outlook on all things, it's very simple and, well, childish about every subject matter. That doesn't mean there aren't plenty of sci-fi settings that aren't good.

I would like Smoothrich to provide some evidence for his claims, and then an estimation of just how many billions George Lucas has made because of this cRPG thread. I await with breath most bated.
