Siege/conquest is a serious game mode where Druzhina, Grey and Germans (Eques, Norse) play. EU1 usually have clan stacks (Vanguards/Barabe) and good people from Krems on the other side :D

Think that ranged damage should be changed a bit, this patch was too harsh. They probably thought it is going to draw the masses to the game, but it only alienated ranged players which is a shame. They may be scoundrels, but they are ten times more intelligent and funny to have around than your typical 14-year old 2H sperglord.

EU2 regurarly has double EU1 numbers. Which is suprising since they nerfed the HA to the ground

That's because HA wasn't the problem, you paid to kill the class and now that it's unplayable you've found your next victim - 2handers and once it gets nerfed too, there will be another target and so on and so on, but nothing will help in the end.

What happened to not qqing when HA got the inevitable nerfs? The problem with HA/HX is simply that it allows people to deal damage while putting themselves at comparitavely little risk. It allows people who aren't that good at the game to make up for their shortcomings while at the same time allows people who are good at the game to play in a lazy and risk averse way. The only person who has fun is the HA, while you can have fun trying to kill a 2 hander with any class because you are involved in the action. Your inputs determine the outcome, as you can always outplay a 2 hander regardless of class (well in melee :D)

Have you played on EU1 recently? I've seen some very deadly archers from the past who aren't deadly anymore. EU1 these days is mostly melee fest, unless some skilled cavs show up but even they must be very careful. EU1 these days mostly feels like old Melee only server (which could be the reason for low population, because that server was fun for first 15 minutes).

I honestly thought ranged was fine where it was 2-3 years ago, back when you could jump-shot and kite, and that's coming from a dedicated pole user.  Oh well.

Hopped on and played a few hours the other day and had a blast.  The respec system is a wonderful thing.

On very few maps are ranged beating infantry, most of the time they make the team lose by being useless.

200 people on Pecores server most of the time, Siege server 80-120 people all the time. Strategus alive.

It is old and you can't change that.

I sticked to my old build, which is definitely STR build and I find it harder to play. I mean - folks are dyin' of my Moningstar as usual, but it is more difficult to hit'em. This is due to 1. Increased number of speed and spam chars 2. less people on server which makes it more difficult for 2nd line 2h.

I can safely say there isn't more than 100 souls playing this mod on EU side. 70% of that number goes to siege servers (mostly DRZ/Grey/Kalmar). EU1 crew is sad state of affairs. Remnants of Mercs clan (mostly French members), Krems and 10 randoms.

Whole day same people play the game at this point. Question is, for how long?

For me there is no goal or reason to play, I just play a bit from time to time for fun.
I believe that is the case for most oldmy old friends, we don't have influx of new players because game is old, mod is old and there is many good games around nowdays.
you have to deal with it and stop that balamefest.
