I'm fucked.

Lately I ran into quite a lot of issues regarding newer games, related to them being not well optimized or my cpu (Intel E8400 dual core) being to slow. But at least, I could always start them and try to get it running.

Dragon Age: Inquisition refuses to start on any Dual Core. Just a black screen after "this symbol for saving bla bla". :(
EA support said "If you bought over Origin, we'll give a refund." Well, fuck me, I didn't :P

Guess I have to seriously consider an upgrade now :?

I've heard that EA actually follows up on Origin refunds, they refused?

To be honest the "I didn't" could mean "I didn't get a refund", which is what I read.

He bought the key somewhere. That is why people should buy Origin games on Mexican Origin. Involves some VPN gymnastics (EA doesn't give a fuck, unlike Valve) but it is an official store where games are half the price of NA/EU Origin store.

Trying my very best to sympathize with people who still buy games from EA in 2014 but I'm failing. Especially considering that it was rather well known that this is going to be the usual biowarian garbage.

Rather well known? Really? It's getting a lot of good reviews.

Its a good game. It uses the Battlefield engine though which makes full use of multiple cores, even 8 core AMD cpus. Its a giant bloated buggy game running on Frostbyte 3 or w/e which is optimized for new PC technology.

You'd be crazy to sympathize with people who thought it would run well on a dual core box. Its seriously time to upgrade, and not very expensive either.

My i5 4670k and Radeon HD 7950 run almost everything maxed out hitting 60 FPS, and my recent SSD purchase makes load times and hard drive streaming texture pop in bugs and such ancient history. Will probably be another year before I need to upgrade my years old, super cost-effective GPU, and the i5 effortlessly handles shit like DA I.

Will probably get this one for Christmas. So far it's looking reasonable and I've never been fussed about using Origin even if it is a piece of shit.

Need to start upgrading my PC though. GTAV and Witcher 3 will probably make mine explode, although I've only just come to the point with games where I've needed to turn shit down from ultra to high and knock off the fancier effects. When it starts hitting medium (probably with those games) it'll be time.

I'm running a Radeon HD 5750 and Phenom II x4 955 with 8GB RAM. Still perfectly capable, but I've had the graphics card for 5 years now and the CPU for 4.

I'm definitely looking at investing in an SSD and a new 1tb drive as well. My current old 500gb hard drive is around 7-8 years old and no idea when it's going to pack up.

I would honestly like to see more of the melee gameplay footage. Those mage effects and spells are sure nice, but I get this feeling they are deliberately trying to hide something.

I hope I am wrong.

Yeah never been a big fan of the melee combat in Dragon Age. It's pretty standard and not all that interesting even with the skills. May have changed here but Mage is where it's at if you want big shiny skills. Though I always liked going the archer route as well.
