Highland Claymore and Nodachi imbalance

I'm a 1h player who can't really attest to the experiences of these weapons (besides being on the wrong end of them from time to time) but I noticed that their stats seem peculiar.  The nodachi has no stab, no secondary mode, slower speed, is considerably more expensive, and is just five points of length more than the Claymore.  Perhaps the Claymore should lose some speed or damage?  Thought I should point this out.  Have a nice day :)

no thrust is a bit of a misnomer, Katanas and Nodachi can thrust, but it isnt pretty.  Thrust attacks are the last 2h attack methods taught in Kendo, before moving to 1 handed moves.

Highland loosing speed and damage would be the second last nail in the coffin of 2h. (the last would be doing the same to danish)

Every 2h has been nerfed, considerably. Return 92 speed to nondachi and its fixed
Defy me, and you will know what it is to stand against a god.

It's fixed with equal speed?  That would still handicap it, compared to the claymore, in terms of stab, secondary mode, price, and weight.  And for what?  Five more length.  I don't play 2h but it seems to me, from an outsider's perspective, that five length is not worth five length and a whole host of handicaps.  Perhaps significantly decrease the Nodachi's price?

The weight on nodachi should be green, and the claymore's red. I modified it in my quote to show. More weight is better in 2handed dueling, it means your weapon is stunned less and block-stuns the enemy's weapon for longer.
Their price is very similar, not worth mentioning.
It would have the weight advantage, 5 more length, and no thrust. Now, many people I know prefer to play with weapons without thrust since not everyone like to have thrust on their weapons. That is why thrust is listed as brown. Not everyone wants thrust.
That would make the internal balance correct as is; Although if their speed was both 91 or both 92 that would also be internally balanced.

I'm a little late to this thread but I compared the Nodachi quite heavily.

Summary:

1. MANY polearms have better stats than the Nodachi for similar price, more power, polearm ability, same or Faster swing. Nodachi is inferior to similar Polearm weapons, and it can't thrust.
2. Nodachi is also inferior to many 2H weapons that are cheaper. E.g. Maiodao is far faster, closish damage (40c vs nodachi's 43c) and similar length (115 vs nodachi's 122). I'd pick the maiodao any time as the big speed difference (96 vs 91)  easily makes up for being slightly shorter and less damaging. Another example is the highland claymore, superior to the nodachi, (thrust is important), the claymore can do it, the nodachi cant, + other stuff mentioned above.

Basically: NO ONE is EVER going to buy a NOdachi other than for decoration purposes. It needs to be improved in whatever way to make it competitive again.  I can dig the "make it less attractive so its less often used" theme to keep jap gear less frequent in-game, but nerf it in another way, make it more expensive than its worth for example (which as a by-product it currently is :D), more than standard, don't make it shit compared to the other weapons though (which it is as explained above - read point 1). Also 16str to use a peice of crap... pass... (i have 16str btw but I'd never go up for THIS weapon)

Please consider this dev's.

Highland Claymore has a pathetic stab, the stab that was on the Nodachi before was even more pathetic, please don't use it as an argument.

The 5 extra length is not to be underestimated at all.

Having no stab is actually a good thing for the Nodachi it means you can't accidentally do it in a tense fight, whiff with its pathetic damage and cause your own death.
Maybe you are not bad, but you are a boring person. Well, that's the end of the matter.

Nodachi in real life can't be slower than claymore.
I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing, you're going back to nothing, what have you lost? Nothing!

Perhaps you could make some maths to give us the exact reallife speed of nodachi like someone did with katana ;)
