Change to valor system

It would be cool if you were on the losing team but still alive at the end of the round that you were not eligible for valor.  This would force people to try and stop flags from being captured at the end of the round if they wanted to get valor.  If flags are captured and you're on the losing team and still alive, you would not be able to get valor.

Apparently the code is already been created for this, would just need approval by devs/balancers:

It is possible;
Have a global variable/reg server side for when won by flags.
Add a check in the valour code for: if won by flags and player alive and if on winning team or not.
If on the losing team, no valour.

(click to show/hide)

P.S. It's called valor, not valour.  Stop writing unnecessary vowels.

I'm not usually one to bitch about people not searching, but look 2 posts down: http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/valor-killed-the-mod-remove-plox/

And it is valour.  Valor is American spelling, and they think bombing the shit out of 3rd world countries is valourous.  You get valour for defeating many strong enemies, you get valor for lancing a 1st gen peasant in the back in your gothic armour and plated charger.

No, I'm pretty valour is my dictionary, but I will check. Yes, valour alright. Since it's pronounced as seen it seems logical, but then Queen's English is much softer than Yank, so you can write it as you like and noone is trying to make you change the way you pronounce shit all.

Naw adding the extra vowels is just the Brits trying to sound all Norman like.  The Yanks just rationalized the language and made it more efficient.

And fighting third world countries is only valourous when the Limeys do it.  When the Yanks do it it is valorous.  See the difference?

Both the multi system with valor and the proximity to damage systems are severely flawed.  The only fair way to distribute experience is to do it based on YouTube views for 360 no scope trick shot kills.

Fuckkkk really only posts are by people talking about how many trees the brits killed over the years with their extra vowels?

I thought people might get a chuckle out of it, and then go onto the substance of my post.

I'm not usually one to bitch about people not searching, but look 2 posts down: http://forum.melee.org/suggestions-corner/valor-killed-the-mod-remove-plox/

The title of the post says "remove valor".  Why would I assume that has anything to do with what I was talking about?  I just read his actual post and it's basically verbatim from what I'm requesting (and others have requested), but the title sucks, so I'm imagining a lot of people haven't even read it.

Fun fact, 'barbaric' effectively means 'bearded', it was an insult and way of defining non-Romans (by Romans) as they saw facial hair as savage and uncivilised. So they referred to savages by their bearded status to set them apart from the superior Romans.

Every group of people on earth had a word for the uncultured swine (i.e. pretty much everybody else). However, "barbaric" comes from Greek, not Latin.

If you all learned anything from EON it should be that it is spelled valore
We're all nerds here, so it doesn't really matter.

If you read any of the previous posts, you'd know that this one is the troll thread, while the one you posted on is the real thread.

And all the real nerds call it 'Valar Morghulis' now.
