As a person ignorant about strat in every way, what's so hard about saying "screw it" and just cooperate to have large battles? Not like anyone cares anymore, and the faux hatred/rivalry is tiny in the grand scheme of things..

No fun allowed in cRPG. Also the majority seems to be somewhat allergic to things happening that might bring us a few bigger battles.
