I`m 24 years old, and I make 1000 euros per month, while the basic wage here is 402 euros.

Keep in mind that unemployment rate is 33% atm.

If I was in another country, like US or Sweden for example, I`d be rich.

Minimum wage, at least where I am from is $8.50 USD. Assuming someone works 40 hours per week, they make $1360 per month. Converting your 1000 euros into USD, you are making only $1353.98. Congrats making below minimum wage. The only way you can be "rich" is if you only work 10 hours per month or so (making your hourly income quite high) in which case you are quite lazy.

Not sure, but I think his point was that he's doing well for his relative economy, so if he were in a country with a better economy he'd be rich due to his relative success.

Didn't you get education and job training or w/e from Greek military?

Lol if you were an American and followed the same path, you'd be a homeless PTSD alcoholic with no job skills or government assistance and statistically you would've probably killed yourself by now.

1000 euros a month is 16247.76 dollars a year. I make a little less that that working part time at in a furniture warehouse while going to school.
We're all nerds here, so it doesn't really matter.

I swear you folks only read the last sentence he wrote.

You get an A+ for reading comprehension.

Meh, money doesn't really work that way since you have to factor in education level vs general populace, supply vs demand for his job/service, living costs, and taxes.

Ignoring taxes,

In Greece I'd be making 20,000-30,000 euros/year.

In Sweden, I'd be making the equivalent of ~75k USD (I make more right now in NYC) a year, which is only 1.4 times their average salary, if I'm being really generous with the numbers.

It varies from job to job, but usually moving to a richer country won't make you rich unless you work for a really long time and bring the money back to the country with a poorer economy.
