You can be a free thinker and still do your own thing your own way in an enviroment "now suited for free thinkers".

I work in such an enviroment, State agency, lot's of suits and ties and career chasing douches, yet I do just fine there with my tatoos, anime t-shirts and Vans shoes, it's all about how you work and gain respect by the job you do not what you wear or what you believe. Is it my first choice job? Hello no! I'm working on getting out of there but I need to pay the bills and instead of crying I adapted and I do my thing... still met some great people there, not everybody everywhere is an asshole.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying the punishments were wrong. They were logic and necessary.
I am just saying ( giving examples ) that the army is not the right place for people with a strong freewill.

And I prefere people that find their own way and own rules instead of participating in a system of hirachy and order.

At bootcamp I had a drill sergeant, the biggest dick I ever met in my life. Everyone in my company wanted to murder him in cold blood.

We would go for breakfast after the morning run, and once we were eating inside, he would come in the restoraunt, and he`d force us to eat while we`re doing small jumps, and if one of us dared to speak, that was it, no more breakfast, out to run again with half full stomaches from the food, hell, even today I can sense the food coming up my mouth ready to puke from the running.

He`d use to wake us at 4 am to do a role call with full gear, and if someone wasn`t ready at the given time, all the others would do push ups until he was.

Or, we were ready to go out with 6 hour passes, and if someone dared to speak during the role call, he would make us run around the barracks until he was done with the role call, a role call with 200 names on it

Trashtalking, waking us up brutally with kicks on our beds and every other annoying shit a man can do to annoy others.

BUT.

Last day at bootcamp, he gathered us all and he gave us a speech, he knew everyone hated him and he was glad for it, because everything he was doing to us, it was made to make us be ready in a case of war, there will be times that you`ll have to run after you have eaten, there will be times that you`ll have to wake up and be ready in 3 minutes or less, because the enemy will be attacking.

Utrakil, Greece has no friends around. We have the Turks who hate us, the Albanians and the Monkeydonians who despise us and the  Bulgarians who envy us.
We are surrounded by people who want pieces of Greece for themselves.
Balkans ain`t Middle Europe nor Scandinavia, and armies play a huge role in protecting and serving.

What people like you, leshma, falka and every other hippie prick out there fail to see, is that soldiers have a bigger free will than you. Because soldiers, know that when to war, chances are against them, yet they don`t back down.

The point of those mistreatments is to destroy individualities, strengthening both obedience and group dynamic. It's necessary when coordination is more important than efficiency, but it's clearly not for everybody, and doesn't leave people unscathed. Actual training as in what you have to do and what you have to know, is secondary to that.

What were we talking about again ? Ah yes, I read Death Note and loved it.

man the fuck up

The best argument ever

not

It kinda reminds me of.. let's say hard liqour. You don't drink litres of it like water? Or you don't like it and prefer lighter drinks?

"Man the fuck up". It's true for countries like this one where it's in culture to drink.

That's just a defense mechanism. "Uhhhhhhh.... I couldn't handle discipline because I have, like...... free will, and stuff."

How do you know? You've never been to war.

It has to be that way. You can't believe in nationalist crap propaganda unless you color your reality black and white. Throw some grey here and there and soon you'll realize that what you've thought is true is just pure bullshit.

AA and artillery is completely different from infantry everywhere, not comparable at all.
Ofcourse its not comparable. But they all count as militaryservice none the less. But when u get to choose you either go to AA and artillery for totally slacking off or  infantry for not really slacking.
