AA and artillery is completely different from infantry everywhere, not comparable at all.
Meaning lies as much
in the mind of the reader
as in the Haiku.

What?

I don`t know how the military works in other countries, but here after the boot camp, which lasts 6 months, you are free to live wherever you want, inside or outside the base you`re stationed at.

So, your arguent is invalid.

Here, have the picture I took with my company at our last night together (end of bootcamp)

ah the memories

Shiiiet, i could have sworn you were the 4th guy in the top row from the right, not the short white hoodie dude.

Now i know you are actually short!

The guy in the white hoodie is the tallest in that pic. You're bad at visual proportioning.

Holy fucking mother of cringe. lol

On the topic of animes: You'd be surprised how good stories a lot of them have, much better than most of the shit they put in movies nowadays.

Have you been in the military? If so, what did you do there? I'm guessing the answer to the former is a "no", seeing as how clueless you are about how things are done.

You are right I did not serve in the army.
But I witnessed the mental change of former friends which totally affirms my toughts about the  hirachic system the military is based on.
And I think there must be a reason that almost all the funny guys I know that went to the army spend some time in the military prison for disobidience.
one had to carry treetrunks instead of a weapon because he threatened an ashole superior.
one had to be brought back to camp by the MP because he didn't accept that someone cancelled his offdays.

IN my book strenght is shown by following your own mind even against higher forces and not bending to any ashole superior.

Discipline is it's own form of strength. The person you are fighting is yourself. Your "own mind" is sometimes quite biased and likely to follow the path of least resistance. One is not always right, and gut feelings are not always to be trusted. Having some mouthy dipshit threaten a superior officer (to his face, obviously most grunts loathe officers, but there's such a thing as decorum) he's lucky all he had to do was carry a tree trunk. Sounds pretty hilarious to me.

Pff Death Note. You´ve never seen Stein´s Gate, nah?  8-)
It´s about time travel. Story is a bit slow in the first few episodes but it´s getting sooo good lateron, the ending is hardcore. I like stories which are planned through from the beginning to the end.

Actually he offered him a 1v1 with his knife in his hand when he found his superior alone during a nightwatch.
ha had to serve some time in military prison and served the rest of his military time without weapons. As he tells the story the officer was picking on him and others for quite a while prior to this incident.
And yes Discipline forges individuals to something stronger. I am also aware that discipline is indespensable in the army.
But there is also the eternal truth that diobediance is a duty if the order is of no good exept to punish or insult others.

OMG! You should totally be allowed to threaten (wtf? most useless thing ever) superiors without any consequence! What the fuck, maaaaan!

Rofl, had a knife in his hand and goes to "offer a 1v1" :----------------------------------------------D
Of course he gets fucking punished, jesus  :D

Don't get me wrong. I am not saying the punishments were wrong. They were logic and necessary.
I am just saying ( giving examples ) that the army is not the right place for people with a strong freewill.

And I prefere people that find their own way and own rules instead of participating in a system of hirachy and order.

That's just a defense mechanism. "Uhhhhhhh.... I couldn't handle discipline because I have, like...... free will, and stuff."
