You're an idiot, but we all knew that already. Go into any prison and ask them what percentage of their violent prisoners they estimate have some sort of cluster B personality disorder. It's around 90%. Then there's the whole proportion of those PD's in the homeless population. I'm sure that's just a complete random coincidence as well. Look, you can't put "mental illnesses" all under the same umbrella. Most people with autism or asperger's are at the very worst dangers only to themselves. No one is saying we should be afraid of everyone that's mentally "ill". But there's such a thing as degrees. You can't pretend sociopathic, antisocial, narcissistic, borderline, psychopathic etc etc PD's have no link to ridiculous acts of violence. Being mentally ill does not make you a special snowflake, the way you view the world is not some unique gift. For the vast majority of those suffering from them, they are a giant hurdle and something they have to struggle with their entire lives in order to not be completely miserable. The way some people romanticize and glorify mental illness is fucking sick.

Wow. I really just watched this almost 2 hours video. It really gives you a deep and wider view on the case Elliot Rodger than anything else.
Of course it's all about this guy who killed inoccent people, the victims aren't adressed here. But it surely makes you understand why it could come to this, why it even HAD to come to this. If you are bored and have 2 hours, watch it.

P.S: It's basically an analysis of Elliots Rodgers "manifesto"/ life by a guy named Stefan Molyneux. No idea who that is, but the video speaks for itself.

Most cluster A and B personality disorders emerge during puberty, which strongly suggests they are linked to biological/genetic factors. And they are unfixable. There is no cure. They are not "flexible" mental illnesses. You don't "become" narcissistic because of external factors. Sorry to break the news to you but genetic lottery isn't fair, some people just end up with the short stick.

Genetic epidemiologic studies indicate that all ten personality disorders (PDs) classified on the DSM-IV axis II are modestly to moderately heritable. Shared environmental and nonadditive genetic factors are of minor or no importance. No sex differences have been identified. Multivariate studies suggest that the extensive comorbidity between the PDs can be explained by three common genetic and environmental risk factors. Yeah, much better to just use it as support for your own pet social cause. It's a gun problem, it's a misogyny problem, it's a lack of love and understanding, it's everything I think is wrong with society. That's a complicated subject, you'd have to actually ask a psychologist about it.

Apparently he had seen many different therapists. I really doubt high functioning autistic is the only diagnosis he ever received. If anything there's a high chance of therapist "shopping", especially given his social background. High-functioning austistic is a much more socially acceptable diagnosis than any of the cluster PD's.
