Nothing but down votes and shit posts. The only shining beacon of glory is the 13 Knights. These brave, brave fellows, while merciless, show up to all the battles and joke around pre-battle with the insidious cephalods before unleashing their fury against them.
Our last battle had the full complement of the 13 Knights, once again against innumerable foes (innumerable if you can't count past 5 (there were six of them) which most of 13K can't), BUT as it was, with the full complement of the 13 Knights, damage was done. While I distracted the enemy by getting killed by them ( a sound tactic, as Sun Tzu or Von Clauswitz would agree), Dirk was able to kill 2 of those scoundrelly scoundrelous scoundrels.
But once again the 13 Knights suffered defeat. Or did they? Every battle they fight gains them strength. The casual observer sees their heroism, and wants to be a part of that. To win with honour is one thing (like we did with New Shulus, New Slekhz Castle and New Anus Audi and that silly caravan that did not run after we took it), but to lose with honour is something new to this strat thing.
We showed up when everything looked hopeless. We showed up expecting and embracing defeat. In peasant gear Dirk slew 2 of the armed squids, while Bryggan did the cool things that make Bryggan so cool. Was there shame in that defeat. Oh no! The legend of the 13 knights is just beginning. Every defeat we take in the name of random travelers who thought they were safe from the Kraken's tentacles is one more nail in the Squids' coffin.
Heroes are rare and few these days, but past events have shown us all that the 13 Knights are all (both of them) true heroes. We are, good people, the beacon of light in this dreary, dimlit world of strat 5.
Let the adulation begin!
