How long can the cRPG community survive?

I keep coming to this thread and saying "wow how fun, I'm going to go play dwarf fortress now!", and then I launch it and remember how not fun it is, and come back to the thread. Rinse, repeat, disappoint.

yeah downloaded and launched it.. lasted about 8 seconds before I said what am I looking at and closed it again.

If they had some sort of mod that made it even a little easy to look at I would try it again

yeah downloaded and launched it.. lasted about 8 seconds before I said what am I looking at and closed it again.

If they had some sort of mod that made it even a little easy to look at I would try it again

You can use the graphics pack among others which Johammeth is using, which is MUCH better than the original.. But still. I would Love a amssive graphics overhaul for this game which makes it much more user friendly and easier to look at what you're doing, etc but it would probably be a really shitty remake ^^ sry double post

But... but... someone else engraved you, right? Not to mention idk what your character looks like. And these take longer than you think... I don't even have a mouse, lol. Gotta use my crappy laptop's thumbstick thingy. If I find the time later, and whoever drew you in the game real life simulator doesn't draw you, I might be able to.

It looks like a Dwarf Fortress clone with better graphics, but a little less depth.

Does anyone have experience with this game and could give a recommendation?

Even with all the graphic mods and easy UI its still a pretty hardcore game... You really need to want to play it to actually enjoy it lol

Looking at Johammeth chapters, he seems like an experienced player...
