As far as I can tell, the only change to the 1h right swing animation is that the weapon now points upwards in the ready position instead of sideways. The speed/reach/sweetspot/etc all seem to be the same, so the only gameplay implications would be less catching on walls/teammates. Overall, it'll still be the swing that gives you reach in exchange for being slow with a crappy sweetspot, you'll just be able to use it more indoors and near teammates.
Each patch with minor changes brings these "Tydeus ruined the mod" lunatics out of the woodwork. I'm just glad someone is still working on it. I'd rather the remaining devs focus on improving the game modes and reward system instead of tweaking animations/sweetspots (since they are pretty balanced right now), but at least they are doing something.
The "drag a missed overhead around on the ground for full damage" thing was a game-breakingly ridiculous mechanic, and Tydeus deserves a lot of credit for fixing that one.
