it's no faster, easier to see, and has a shorter range

i use the old right swing to outrange 2h / pole etc when target switching / playing for range, and the new one just has none of that - it just seems to be a weaker version of the left swing

Actually, right swing seems a good bit faster -- I'll have to play with it a bit more.

The range was the great benefit though.  The current swing significantly decreases the "threat vector" of 1h from that side.
Time will tell...

Yeah, as Penitent said, time will tell. Right now it's just taking some time to get used to. So far it doesn't seem that different to me beyond the obvious change in animation and where the sweet spot is.

Really, effective range shouldn't have changed by more than just a couple cm when hitting a target that's directly in front of you.

I still can barley know where my swing going to hit or the range of it. It's honestly frustrating me.  I know the point is to make it shorter range but why this drastic of a change to it? I go to hit somebody with a right swing then nope, the swing seems to not hit them when it looks like it should be.

Strat xp should pretty much be doubled from what it was. The minimum was doubled(from 6K to 12K) and the equipment to xp rate was increased by 50% as well.

I like the idea of XP rates being increased, bug UUUUGGHHHGHHHRHGHGHGHH to the idea of slogging through strat battles.

Right swing is still weird for me. The long range thing may be nerfed by this animation but i like the part where i can use it like left swing. Before the patch whenever i want to use right swing it always blocked by someone who is next to me. Still it was a good option against backpedal or in 1vs2 situation. I'm sure that right swing will be much more effective in close quarters. Now, just nerf the backwards speed and we will be all happy.

Edit: How did i forget that. Bring back Rageball!!

Using it for a bit, the right swing actually feels longer at times, probably a perceived side effect from speeding it up. Surprised about these right swing hipsters, I've never seen many of you (NA) use it that much successfully before.

Is strat doing that bad you had to bribe players to participate?
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

Yesterday evening, after the patch i saw some weird balance.
After 3 rounds (and 3defeats) our team lost for no reason our topscoring player getting switch to the other team.... (of course that was AFTER another round lost) (something is wrong or it's just me "wtf?")
Maybe it was just in case that we were not enough massacred....

Some minutes later, on another map, the same thing happened again, so, it doesn't seem to be a random bug.
------------------

This weird bug put aside, i can't give my own opinion about this new patch yet.
I need a bit more time to check all the changes.

I REALLY hope that was not directed at me.

Never mind the new right swings functionality (as it seem about the same, though far less intuitive ), I just think the animation looks god awful. If you're going to angle the swing in that way it really needs a new starting position.

Regarding the animation length though it's probably not a horrible change to make it shorter, just not like this.
