I guess people ignore the fact that he insulted me and then HE came to my face..
...but you couldn't just step back? Where was the "better man" in that moment?
In such a harmless situation, violence is always the weak men's choice. Especially at an University where you're supposed to be better than the "common folks".
Not saying that I don't get it. Just, personally, I think that it was a weak reaction. "Sticks and stones blablabla" - there is a lot of truth to it. Not to mention that you should take pride in being at an University, going for an Academic degree... and violence of any sort should be considered below you. It's that simple - at least for me it is.
From my understanding, all that happened was, more or less, that some guy called you "asshole" and in return you broke his nose. He didn't physically attack you, did he? He called you names and then you broke his nose cuz he happened to stand very close in front of you. Doesn't seem appropriate to me, sorry.
