German, French or Russian.  Like previously stated, whichever culture you're more interested in, or whichever place you think you may visit several times, or whichever language you think sounds best.

I'm currently learning German, and when I'm done in going to work on French or Russian.  Probably Russian because:  Водка!   :D

Spanish or French would be best in terms of effort needed/possible use you get out of them, I think. If you speak English, Spanish and French, you are pretty much set for a very large part of the world.

In your case, though, German might be best, to beg more efficiently for Euros ("Gib mir Geld, du Schweinehund, ich verrecke sonst hier!"). Although French could also help, since EU is mostly a German-French alliance with some bandwagoners.

Because I was speaking of languages on which he shouldn't spend his time. I could say the same for chinese bu it's still more worthy than these. (Speaking of indian and chinese not Portuguese)

if german would not be my native language, then i would not learn it. there is a saying "every rule has an exception" and this is no joke.

spanish was quite nice, basic grammar was not that hard and it has some ties with english as well.

russian, well like every slavic language it has a lot of s sounds, ohh and there are six grammatical cases (well for polish or croatian you have seven).

or you could try dutch, it is a bit closer to english  than german.

Spanish is overrated. I really regret having chosen that language over german during my studies.

But that's maybe because i'm an EU guy, who wants to stay in Europe. And german cars good cars.

French ? Why not. But it's clearly not what it used to be. Nobody really cares about french anymore, and now all our companies want people with fluent english. A lot of our softwares are in english anyway, even when developped in France. So... i don't really see how it could be usefull.

Except for throwing insults at Olwen. Wich would be a good point.
