I cannot judge on Russian, if you think the similarities between Greek and Kyrillic alphabet will give you an advantage, why not?

Chinese seems pretty hard to learn from my point of view, you could have problems to find native speakers to talk to, too.

I'd recommend you French over German, I've learned it for 4 years in school (if just I had not been so lazy ), I think it's a beautiful language and the grammar is definitely easier than German grammar.

french seems to be the easiest from the four languages you suggested
as the people say: learn the language of the country you prefer the most

chinese, french, german and russian are well spread languages so they´re all fine

:!: also keep in mind that you´ll have to keep practicing the language, so think about how you´re going to train it and keep your skills fresh. Maybe make some visits in a country where the language is spoken? Or watch some news in that language? Articles, shows, teamspeak, ...?

Chinese, you can pick a job and paycheck with that here, think it's the same in Greece
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

It used to be the same here but like 5 years ago. By now most companies here (I have professional contacts to a few which deal with Chinese companies apart from my own experiences) actually expect the Chinese to being able to communicate in English. Mostly it ends with really perfect business English letters/emails but with hardly encryptable spoken English. Nonetheless, it's getting there. So at least the scientific and electronics world sticks to English it seems. Could imagine the same goes for IT.

I'd actually suggest to get those international Oxford certificates you can do for business English. They are always worth a bit more money here in Germany.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

French is hard, but as a lot of common points with other latin languages, like spanish, italian, you can learn others if you know some french. Also, as you said, french got a lot of common words with english, but it also got "faux amis", words that are written exactly the same way, but with totally different meanings.

Ex : Pub means advertising in french. (Publicité)

There are a lot of other examples, but this is a good one to say you that french is a hard language, even without declinations of words like in german.

Dutch! Do German first, then Dutch and you'll laugh a lot!!

Only if you have reached a level of perfection as well as knowing all dialects and their connotations and you can differentiate what's sounding odd and what not.

Spanish, German or Russian. In my case anyway French is pretty useless from this side of the world I am inhabited, or where id like to be. Dont know how is it in your case. Some people took spanish as voluntary course in my last school. Didnt really seem all that hard.

German is a very logical language.
It might come in handy when german banks take possession of all greek infrastructure in the near future.

and bonus: you can then read "mein kampf" in the original language .. a must for any golden dawn fan.

Serious: Instead of an new language, maybe learn some advanced english?
Way more useful than knowing a little of a random third language imo.

Yo Panos buddy, I like your idea of learing a new language. If I would be at your place, I would go for Russian (really interesting language and you can train with SB's :D) or German ( It's a really 'hard' language to learn but you got me, I can help you :P) or french (easier grammar than German but  ...) But never, never ever go for chinese if you are european(ut).
Greetings and gl with your choice buddy
Fredom, are you British? -> You got an American accent!- Merc_Sjarken
