Dark Voodoo

So after the fall of obliteration of termination of bastardization of DTV, map makers introduced new, 'non-exploitable' maps (which almost all happen to be claustrophobic as fuck, but that is another topic for another day). Well, due to some fun experimenting with the new mage skill system implemented only on the DTV servers, some of us have learned how to use the teleportation spell. This inherently allows us to to exploit even the most unexploitable of maps... because fuck these new maps.

First up, running free on Istiniar.

(click to show/hide)

Now apparently the only thing we DTV players know how to do with open space is exploit, so just for old time's sake, I exploited.

(click to show/hide)

Next location, Helm's Deep. (Aka the game's shittiest map, all 3 of em)

(click to show/hide)

Freedom!

(click to show/hide)

And now for some teleporting into the sky, because why not?

(click to show/hide)

...didn't quite stick the landing, had to finish that wave with a nasty limp. :/

Some more high-flying really, really high-flying shenanigans.

(click to show/hide)

Unfortunately, teleportation is not entirely a science, and it DOES have its risks...

(click to show/hide)

...perhaps if my character was no so faint of heart, and didn't have such shitty cholesterol from being a fat American, he could have avoided chardiac arrest at such high altitudes.

Also, somewhat unrelated, but when not practicing the risky art of teleporting, some mages prefer to use the duplication spell to create works of modern art.

(click to show/hide)

For the record, no one actually uses this shit to exploit, because contrary to what euros think of us Americans, we generally just want to have fun. Life isn't all about winning, and neither is this game. Teleportation is just a nice distraction from the otherwise monotonous grinding of the current DTV.

you just have to give us back all the old maps, remove the new maps, and stop fucking with DTV first.

You don't get the right to make such demands. When you decide to grow up, or actually contribute to this mod, you can be unbanned.

Edit: It's understandable that people will have complaints, but this is not how you go about getting things changed.

Shut your mouth, you little ungrateful bad spoiled brat.

Be thankful that there are people who care about the mod, and not the opposite.

This and that garbage above, thats pretty low, man. Considering the fact that these people do this out of their own free time with no actual rewards, you sure have a good way of showing your gratitude. You do not own them. And if you are displeased about something, make a descent thread with proper arguments and start a proper discussion.

Edit: It's understandable that people will have complaints, but this is not how you go about getting things changed.

Lol, some people are always so serious. Anyways it was a moderately cheeky suggestion, not quite a demand. I am sorry if the you didn't pick up on the small bit of sarcasm in there, thought you were pro at that. The main problem here is that despite plenty of members of the community trying to contribute, they get put down and shunned at every opportunity. Then the guys who currently contribute to the mod ignore the suggestions of many of us "powerless" individuals, and due to their dumb, baseless pride, they ignore everyone's suggestions, oftentimes for the worse of the mod. Contrary to what you may think fips, helm's deep is the death of NA siege, as are a couple other maps that you are so determined to keep in the rotation. When people say a map sucks, it is generally due to balancing, and therefore the amount of fun to be had. It is no direct insult to your ability to make a map pretty. If you just had the stones to come forward and admit that you were in the wrong, and that yes, not every map you make is perfectly balanced or necessarily fun to play, and then took action in changing them or removing them from rotation until they are changed, then not so many of us would have an issue. And yes, it is not only myself. Often times when siege suddenly loses all its players after one of the dreaded maps comes along, someone is bound to say "fuckin fips..."

It's not just a "cheeky suggestion" or "a small bit of sarcasm" if when he asks you multiple times how you're duplicating these bugs, you just continue to avoid giving any sort of help.

As far as I am concerned, DTV has never been better. The people I talk to seem to be saying they enjoy it more as well. About the only time I enjoyed DTV more, was when it first came out(it was new), although I was probably enjoying the absurd rewards it had at the time rather than the gamemode itself.

Edit: You still seem to be avoiding any sort of help with the issue at hand. The only reason I could see as to why you'd do that, is your own overinflated ego. It's not like we're asking you to take back your words and apologize or anything.

Oh, and all the changes that i've done to ALL of the dtv maps are me not listening to the community? Ts, every patch i make a testrun on dtv for every map that has been changed/added to see what people want. Invisible walls were a mistake, too small maps that didn't support 30 players was a mistake, too, as was bad ranged support. That is all solved now.
EU side now has 2 dtv servers that are constantly populated with eu7 being full most of the time. And don't even think about telling me that's just because the exp is so good and it's easy to leech. Double xp on Battle and Siege has been going on for quite some time (Where you can get even more xp, a lot more) and yet people play it.

Mappers are putting so much effort into making maps and editing them and you fail to see how important that is for the mod. New things, even when they are not completely perfect in the beginning, always bring back some fun into the mod. I admit that the first versions of the dtv maps were not great, but they weren't complete rubbish either.

You know, there were exactly TWO applications for map managing. So if teeth and me wouldn't have stepped up, you'd still have the same rotation and maps like in early 2013. Maybe jacko would have put in a little bit of time for crpg, but we all know that project asinus has the highest priority. And it's not easy, not at all. When i decided to give the community something back after 2 years of just sitting back and nerding the game, i knew i had to make decisions that not everyone will like. And you are making it quite obvious that you don't like my decisions regarding dtv, but the problem is, you are being an asshat about it. I will continue to ignore you know, there will be other players who can help me fix that exploit. Or you know, if you still want to play crpg you might tell us as well.

Fips and Teeth have been very responsive with the community, adding new new stuff, tweaking and fixing continuously, being extremely helpful for the Community. This sort of stuff you're posting Jona, is just sad.
