On the contrary, a sword and dagger/shortsword is true dual wielding, while two longswords is the fantasy dual wielding.

Debatable at best. There were (and maybe still are) few schools that teach how to wield two one handed swords.

And besides, wielding a one handed sword and a parrying dagger should not be truly considered dual wielding, because you are usually be using the dagger to deflect and block incoming attacks, not to attack with it.

That way, we could consider sword and shield to be considered dual wielding which is not true.

Which schools taught how to wield two one handed swords? I presume by one handed you mean a full length sword.

The dagger is also used to attack.
Meaning lies as much

as in the Haiku.

School of Niten Ichi-ryū which was established by Miyamoto Musashi was dedicated to dual wielding arts, and yes, that includes wielding two identical one handed (or one and half handed) swords.

My point is, that there is ton of difference between employing dagger and sword, and two swords at once.
I think that only latter should be considered true dual wielding.

Niten Ichi-ryū (二天一流?), which can be loosely translated as "the school of the strategy of two heavens as one", is a koryū (ancient school), transmitting a style of classical Japanese swordsmanship conceived by the warrior Miyamoto Musashi. Hyōhō Niten Ichi-ryū is mainly known for the two-sword—katana and wakizashi—kenjutsu techniques Musashi called Niten Ichi (二天一, "two heavens as one") or Nitō Ichi (二刀一, "two swords as one").

Katana is one and half handed sword, usable in one hand, and wakizashi is one handed sword. Your point?

Wakizashi is a short sword.

Still a sword, not a dagger.

I said sword and parrying dagger/dagger shouldnt be considered dual wielding, because most of the attacks will be done by sword, rather than dagger.

But with long one handed sword and a short sword, nothing limits you from using both equally, which is practically an essense of dual wielding. Dagger has, in conjunction with sword, more defensive purpose, like shield, only lighter.

It is as if people called using sword and very small buckler, or duelling glove dual wielding. You can still attack with buckler but you sure as hell not going to use it in the same manner as sword, and that is same for dagger.
